In short ... yes!
This year was a tiny experiment and I ended up with a good crop of Rustica from 10 or so plants + a second sucker crop from each plant too! I also planted out 5 black stalk mammoth plants and they haven't even made it to flowering ... I'm giving them until October and then we'll see what the leaves might be like.
I've learnt so much ... It's been about the worst summer I've ever seen for growing things here in the UK - it pretty much rained for the whole of May & June with almost no sun - so these plants have only been out since July really and given those conditions the whole "growing in the UK" thing looks very likely to be very possible.
Next year I would like to try some other varieties I've already got some Alida seeds from Sweden and I'd like to experiment with some other varieties better suited to colder shorter growing seasons. I'll also pray for some better weather. Maybe 40-50 plants is the goal.
