I was recently in a car accident which has put me out for a few months and counting...but I'm starting to roll again.

I know it might be posted somewhere but can someone tell me in lamens terms what kind of laws there are in Pennsylvania for selling your own cigars? I looked for an answer from ATF online but it didn't seem all that clear to me

You'll probably need a business license, tax id# for collecting taxes. Check with your local business office, that might be a good place to start.

there are no layman's terms in law.
every bit of it requires a new york lawyer.
which i ain't...
I'd imagine to sell a finished tobacco product the fed, state, and local gubments would demand a piece of the action.
probably in advance.
under severe penalty...

Good luck with that

Our elected officials smoke cigars rather than cigarettes. My guess is the laws are vastly different between the two.

To manufacture cigars, you need a federal license. Last I knew, they were $5000 a year plus a $5000 bond as payment against the first 10,000 cigars you produce (federal tax on cigars is 50 cents a stick), then you'll need an OTP license from your state to sell cigars, then you'll have to collect sales tax, so you'll need a vendors license.

Piece of cake

I figured the government would be eager to get their hands in my pockets if I were to start selling. It's just been a little blurry to me regarding how I would do it legally. Thanks for the info guys. Is there somewhere a little more specific I can find what I need to know?

I agree with you about the ATF website. It's a jumbled up mess. Searches pull up a million choices, none of which is the right one. I think they do that crap on purpose.

You could call them. I called to find out if it was legal to own a whiskey still for display purposes. They told me they didn't care what I did as long as I didn't make whiskey in it.
