I made about 250g of snus using 100g of tobacco flour from an additive free rolling tobacco that's a mix of burley and virginia. I opted for the instant pot method as I have one of those and not a crockpot that I can run for days at a time. The snus turned out great even though it's not particularly flavorful since I used rolling tobacco and due to me just trying things out I only used ~4.5g of sodium carbonate so it's about a typical regular strength nicotine-wise. It's been venting for a few days so I went ahead and pulled out a couple small cans worth to start testing some flavors and made one a very mild peppermint and the other I flavored with an 'extract' I made using gin, rose water, and the contents of a black currant tea bag.

My next batch will definitely be made with some quality tobacco, though, because using that rolling tobacco really requires flavoring and I'd like to just taste some good tobacco sometimes. With that in mind, any interesting flavor combinations y'all have found? I'm not really tied to any of the traditional flavors as I'm just getting into snus and am curious about where people take flavor profiles with tobacco.

Try adding a pinch of mulethi powder and a smaller pinch of ammonium chloride to about three ounces of snus for a traditional snus flavor/aroma. I just eyeball the amounts. Do this after cooking and aging the snus. Just don't overdo it, add a small amount at a time, mix well and taste/smell until it is to your liking. Another thing I like to do is to take some bergamot extract, put it on a cotton ball inside a small condiment container and nestle it down inside a larger container of snus, this will impart a delicious bergamot aroma to your snus.
So far, the best snus I've made was from a 50/50 mix of dark air cured and MD609. The dark air cured alone makes a very tasty snus, but the high nicotine content can be overwhelming.
