I have 20 big buckets and 8 large flower pots and I'm going to give my chum 4 Virginia's for him to grow in his garden.
My cigarette blend isLet me ask you a question chaps. I think I mentioned before that I don't have a lot of space in my little garden so I'll be growing in buckets and large flower pots. I usually smoke a roll your own blend called Golden Virginia, I would say it's quiet a bold blend.
I also used to enjoy a pipe on occasion back in the day. I don't have the facility for flue curing and kilning unfortunately.
I have grown four different varieties, Virginia, Yellow Twist Bud, Maryland 609 and Basma.
So having said that, what percentage of what variety would you suggest I plant out?
Thanks chaps.
Hello it depends on growing space and later curing leaves. In my case, 40-45 plants to obtain a minimum harvest to smoke. I love a lot the maryland 609 and virginia yellow is a must for pipe smoking. Basma like all orientals will add "magic" to your blends. If i was planting: 20 virginias 10 maryland 10 basma. Good luck with your season!Let me ask you a question chaps. Your garden looks lovely. A larger plot of land, like a larger house, can be both blessing and burden.you chaps post photos of your back yards
Nice plants and garden... you have to be proud of it!!I'm always slightly envious when you chaps post photos of your back yards, for most of us Brits they look like fields, but, you have to make the best of what you've got. So here's some photos of my limited space grow in a bucket grow.
Muchas gracias. Oh I am proud of it, although I must admit that my wife is the gardener, I'm more of the labourer. In a few days the other grow bags will be in the greenhouse ready for the tomato plants and aubergines.Nice plants and garden... you have to be proud of it!!

And the best till last, the Virginia. I bought these from EBay so unfortunately I don't know the variety,View attachment 41973
What they need really is some good long warm sunny days but unfortunately we don't have many of those. Most days are like living underneath a giant inverted grey Tupperware bowl. But you never know, we may see the sun yet.

You can also just rub them off with your thumb or finger. That way you're dealing with the problem as you find it.You're right, I should have looked first. I'll wait till they get a little bit bigger then remove them, thanks a lot.
