not a real big plant,, i got the seeds to give my ciggs a '' CAMEL'' blend,, i was planning on mixing it with burley and big-gem,,, but i have no burley my crop died at seedlings,,

but the sharazi turned out very nice,,,and mellow,, being just air-cured,,,

it flowered early,,,,,lot quicker than my big-gem did,,,

i believe the big-gem is of the burley family,, just by the way the leaves looked,,,

but as for a '' TURKISH MIX'' to add,, for ciggs,, im pleased with it and would reccomend it as a turkish filler,,for a good full flavoured homegrow customized cigg...

There are very many varieties of Turkish tobacco and many of them have different flavors. Don't expect single variety to be the answer to your quest for the perfect Oriental (Turkish). Many of us here have planted multiple varieties each year and have yet to make any conclusion as to which is the perfect Oriental. Within the next several years, I suspect we will be able to make some general recommendations as to which is most likely the best variety to use in a Camel Filter blend.

I've grow Oriental varieties that taste anywhere from a neutral, nondescript smoke to an intense perfume flavor. My guess is there is a little of a lot of different orientals in a Camel blend. In addition to blending in Oriental tobacco, there are other tricks that can be done to tobacco to make it taste the way you want it to.

Another real good trick is to toast the tobacco. The recipe can be found in the "Finishing" pages of the forum. I spent a few months experimenting with different ingredients and procedures. Follow the directions closely at first then make your own adjustments.

I wouldn't recommend toasting Oriental varieties (although, I believe the first tobacco toasted was an Oriental, but I've never tried it), tobacco that has been Flue Cured or Fire Cured.

Burley is a good candidate to toast as is any other Air cured type.

There are other ingredients you can use like licorice, vanilla, and others. I'll try to find more and post them in the Finishing forum.
