^^^^^^

thats sort of the idea, im thinking of using this year....maybe a 4 foot wire,,, full of leaves,,,

but i was also thinking of using some baccy sticks and rotating the leaves 4 on one side 4 on the other,,,

i like to improvise when i can,,,,,so im thinking of using palm tree limbs for the '' sticks'' or bamboo...

and making a frame, that i could just slide these '' sticks'' on when full of leaves,

I'm thinking about two 2x2's 8 feet long with 4 holes drilled through both and bolts and wing nuts. Lay the leaf on the bottom 2x2 and then sandwich with the top and hang . Only the stem gets pinched.

Here's a thought. I have a nail gun. How about taking a 1.5 X 1.5" stick 4'long and driving nails thru it every 5" from both sides leaving two hand hold spaces. Then two leaves could be speared on each nail point and the stick hung on a rack. I already have the rack. After color curing the leaves would be tied or packed for kilning.

Upside - A small grower like me could hang a variety of leaves (labeled) and get to any pair of them easily.

Downside - All those nails sticking out could be hazardous.

John , I did that last year. I stalk cured my tobacco on them. I had a problem when I tried to push the stalk onto the nail. The stalk would push the nail out. I resorted to keeping a portable drill in the barn and drilling a hole in the stalk. Once I got 7 stalks on the "stick" I just stuck it between my rafters. Other than that it worked great. If you are just going to be putting leaves on then I don't think you'll need a drill

Did you use "ridge shank" nails? They grip pretty good.
