They are hand sorting packages and they're moving without being scanned. Your box is probably not just sitting there where it says it was last. My board is now at a big hub in Los Angeles. It is getting scanned, so far. I don't know why it went that far south, to travel to Iowa from the North Coast.

I believe some mail is transported on Amtrak, in the baggage car. Chicago is the origin point of many of Amtrak's routes - Los Angeles, Albuquerque, SF, Portland, Mpls-St Paul, Seattle, Kansas City, and New Orleans among them.

"A flood of mail, a historic boom in online holiday purchases and one of the biggest snowstorms in the Northeast in years are combining to overwhelm the U.S. shipping system.

An estimated 6 million packages a day are piling up in retailers' warehouses or shipping centers and awaiting pick up by FedEx, UPS, Amazon, the U.S. Postal Service and other shippers. Another 3.5 million packages are being picked up daily but not reaching their destinations on time, the latest shipping data show. It could soon get even worse: On-time delivery rates for the USPS have dropped to just over 86% in the third week of December, down from 93% three weeks ago."

I shoveled 32 inches of snow yesterday, I'm aware of the snow. I'm disabled and do 90% of all shopping online. Only that Cuyahoga Falls post office took a WEEK to scan a package. It is the worst.

I've gotten deliveries from Amazon, USPS and UPS in the past 2-3 weeks. All scan packages within a day or 2, except the PO I mentioned.

Imagine calling the person selling you beautiful tobacco and cussing them out over shipping delays. I swear people are going insane this year.
I guess I got lucky and ordered mine right before USPS got swamped, came quick. Sorry to those still waiting, the eagle will land soon!

I'm actually a little jealous of you guys on the east coast. I haven't had to shovel yet once this year in utah, honestly starting to make me a little nervous! Ha.

I ordered 3 pair of Dr Scholl Odor x charcoal activated insoles from Walmart on Friday Dec 18th along with a small cannister of Dr Scholl Odor X spray. This order was delivered SUNDAY Dec 20th, at 1 pm. It took 2 days. USPS delivers on Sundays in NY.

This is just one example. The problem is that Cuyahoga Falls post office. They need to be reported. Blaming the snowstorm (I have 4 foot snowbanks on sides of my driveway, so its not the snow.) is crazy.

My last WLT order (processed thru that Cuyahoga Falls post office) was made at 529AM on Dec 11th. It never scanned again till Dec 20th, it has NOT arrived yet. I have spent $200 on cigarettes in the meantime. Cigs are $11+ a pack, here. 2 smokers in the house.

UPS or Fedex would be better for Ohio business.

Jeez. I received my tobacco in 4 days, all the way to Salt Lake. Sounds like you got unlucky, I've been through some bad USPS mistakes :( they're also super notoriously backed up the whole month of December. Despite that I still have more faith in them than UPS or Fedex personally, but to each their own. Worst case you can call and file a lost package complaint with the USPS on the 14 day mark for priority mail I believe.
That bein' said good luck hope you get your baccy soon

UPS and Fed Ex Ground (with the exception of Fed Ex Home Delivery) has always been on time this month, as always, at least in my region. Between me and a neighbor across the street, UPS is delivering on my block every week. Now that WLT can ship by UPS, that's the shipping method I will choose from now on. I'm glad to have that option, although it isn't good for international orders with UPS charging a brokerage fee for Customs.

Cincinnati is a slow USPS facility, too.

I hope everyone gets their packages soon. This sucks. I believe this fiasco was predictable and foreseeable and adequate preparations should have been made to handle it. Even UPS and Fed Ex didn't prepare enough.

Hi all,
1) My order placed on 30/11 was in Milan on 13/12
2) from there I think it was ... relaxing inside Italian Customes
3) just knocked to my door when I was really thinking to not have my Xmas gift.

Not an USPS problem in my case

All orders over $50 have additional insurance added by us, at our cost regardless of what anyone at the USPS says. $50 insurance is standard with Priority mail. For any order with a value over $50, we buy (and pay for) the additional insurance. Re-sending your will order only compound the problem.

The distance doesn't matter. Some of the hubs and sorting facilities are overwhelmed and there is a shortage of trucks, trailers, and plane cargo space. I've got a box that arrived in Des Moines on the 24th and should be here today, but it hasn't been scanned in the Waterloo regional sorting facility as of this morning. Des Moines is a big hub, but not as big as others. I'm an hour from the regional facility on the main highway. Boxes go from DSM to my post office in a matter of hours. I might be waiting until Monday for my present to travel the last 230 miles. The box has been in transit since the 15th. Timely arrival is hit or miss right now.

Even regular trucking is experiencing a shortage right now. The SIPs factory my son works at near Ames, Thermomass, has been stacking finished orders in giant piles all over the facility and parking lot for over two weeks because none of their shippers can supply enough trucks right now. They're running out of room for them. They make custom structural insulation panels for building projects all over the world. One European order they have is for three million fiberglass support rods. That's a lot of semi loads.

And my board to fasten my new Xmas Gift to Myself heavy duty shredder to, sent by media mail, is in town and out for delivery! It wasn't scanned until it got to my little post office. So this afternoon is my Christmas and I'm going to be able to sit at my kitchen table, finally shredding all the wonderful leaves I've got ready and waiting. I know my mailman has been putting in overtime completing his route and his jeep has been loaded down with mail and packages.
