A new toy , A 3 point log skidder, I'm liking it. It cost me oh nothing, had everything. Just had to put it together.

It might look weak but it's not. It has already been proven .been put to the test.

Parts abound when you want em bad enough.

I should have some pics sent tomorrow of my catfishing weekend. I may need to move this thread to providing for the table.

I recently got a new tractor and have been clearing my land at home and digging ponds to help with drainage. It has opened up areas totally unacessable previously and have been planting deer forage. I continually catch deer glimpses now cruising my property.
WOW awesome. I would like to get a pair of cowboy boots!.

I'm getting the impression it's becoming more socially acceptable to place the name of a virus to where it originated. No blame intended or implied to where it might have been created or spontaneously originated from of course...
Is it still wrong to call COVID the china virus. I'm just curious.

Funny though, last time I said something similar I got a stern PM talking to from a moderator about how I was a conspiracy theorist and the thread got locked. 3... 2... 1...
Maybe we will do better just talking about baccy since it's something we can all agree on is true;)

Why the use of terms like "China virus" and "Wuhan virus" was discouraged worldwide:

"These survey findings follow a spike in reports of discrimination against Asian Americans during the COVID-19 pandemic. The number of federally recognized hate crime incidents of anti-Asian bias increased from 158 in 2019 to...746 in 2021, according to hate crime statistics published by the FBI."

"...previous research found that calling COVID-19 the “Chinese Virus,” “Asian Virus” or other names that attach location or ethnicity to the disease was associated with anti-Asian sentiment in online discourse. Use of these phrases by politicians or other prominent public officials...coincided with greater use among the general public and more frequent instances of bias against Asian Americans."

It was common practice for the CDC to name viruses after regions they were found in pre dating covid. Take Ebola and lassa for example, both named after a river and town in Africa respectively, near where they originally found. What is most disturbing about covid is the amount of suppression dealing with information in its early days (and latter) and how so many people took part in it.

Covid undeniably had its origins as its first major outbreak originating in Wuhan. Rather it was lab created or an unfortunate accident from someone's pangolin or bat pre dinner appetizer is a different discussion. Existing naming conditions were established. Perhaps the idea that naming prior viruses after poor African locations is not acceptable as well should be considered with a similar degree of outrage. It wasn't though. Why is that? It has the same degree of racial negative connotations that narrow minded individuals could seize on. It does beg the question why was covid different at the time, perhaps for political reasons?

Ideological social aspects aside, the supression of information does not benefit science or people in general. The idea of the governement and certain individuals censoring free speech presents a very disturbing Orwelian outcome in free nations. What happened with covid was unfortunate and certainly could have been handled better than it was. The best way to move forward is to acknowledge and evaluate what worked and what didn't work openly. Sickness is and always will be a part of life.

What any of this has to do with do growing tobacco is beyond me though. @BarG i think it's safe to say the covid nightmare is over. Of course we have the flu or some weird virus running rampant through my work station now for the last 3 weeks - similar to what we have once or twice a year most years. Everyone sick is wearing masks but everyone is catching it anyway. My next conspiracy theory, supported by some pretty good scientific studies, is that mask don't do a whole lot for stopping the spread of flu and other airborne viruses. This year I'm going to be a rebel and take the masks off my tobacco plants while they are growing and test things out. Enjoy life and carry on friend.

PC the virus away, I suppose. As I stated, one of the fundamental problems I had with covid was the concerted effort to suppress freedom of information involving it. Suppressing information is never a good thing for free societies. It hampers science and hinders individuals from making proper judgements based on logical reasoning. It was perhaps more dangerous than the virus in hindsight.

Would it matter? The lies are blatant yet the people do nothing either because of ignorance or apathy. Regardless, they get the suffering they deserve.

I saved this at the beginning, Apr 7, 2020. The whole thing was a planned (Event 201) slight of hand with names and numbers which were not hidden. Fear is a powerful thing.

The sudden decline in pneumonia death is at the same time Covid death ramped up.

Ah, yes. The famous Twitter graph. (Just do a reverse image search of it.) If you care about validity, then you might want to look up the actual data that is referenced in the upper right of the Twitter graph.

excerpted from the bottom CDC reference

or for the whole, multi-year spreadsheet: https://www.cdc.gov/flu/weekly/weeklyarchives2019-2020/data/NCHSData12.csv

This is why I discourage these sorts of discussions on the Fair Trade Tobacco Forum. It requires actual effort to present valid data.
