just tell them why you want it, and what you hope to learn. its also for educational purposes. learning that it sucks is education. be honest because if/when they follow up on your agreement to share said research and you were just gaming them then it might be an uncomfortable time.

i've always honestly just said why i wanted it, and never had an issue.

Thanks SmokesAhoy I had selected 4 types and started the form than stopped, I did not want to lie to them and do not want to get deep with research logs (like I would begin to know what I'm talking about)
Will go back and give it a try

also, weve all seen that this place is not forever and can be pulled instantly. please continue good bagging techniques and continue sending seed to the PEOPLE's seed bank. it's a lot easier to get something from uncle don than uncle sam

yeah, reading that again this morning it sounds all kinds of messed up haha, i was sipping something last night. maybe i'm a commie drinker lol
but yeah, the intent is the same, let me change the wording:
our seed blogs should qualify as educational research of some sort so give it a try. and please save seed as we dont know if the grin will be around for another 100 years, or if they will ship seeds out to non faculty researchers.they might have upped the reqs.

yeah i like this version better.

I think Smokes is right... We should try to qualify as some sort of organization research group and seedbank in a formal way thru Mr FmGrowit.
There are some sweet strains there :)

Before anyone spends 15 minutes downloading the 77 page catalog, be forewarned...it's in French

I have checked this site and I make copy in excel sheet, so, you can search for strains. They also have Besuki from Java. You can download it from here.
They have around 1000+ varieties of tobacco. I get answer from the company:

Dear Mr Dežman,

Thank you for your e-mail and for your interest in our tobacco varieties and seeds.

You can order seeds directly from me.

We sell nude seeds and also, when required, pellets.

Our price for nude seeds is 9.07 €/g, plus shipment costs.
According to the ordered amount, our price for pellets range from 1.30 to 1.70 per 1000. Pellets are available in tins containing 50 000 pills each. We do not have stocks of tins at our Institute (only some tins) so that we usually ask our subcontractor to proceed for pelleting after each order from our customers. Pelleting requires at least 2 weeks.

If needed, we can help you in the choice of varieties best adapted to your climate and your growing practices. We can also provide you small amounts of seeds for varieties field evaluation.

Thank you for your feed back.
Best regards,

Maybe we can order some interesting strains together and save on quantity and shipping. I also found many strains from Cuba which are not present in American market. Probably because of embargo. We can share those. If anybody is interested I can make group buy and then resend the seeds.
Anyway If I could get seeds from ARS GRIN I would rather order from them. At least is free.

Well done Maks, thanks for the converted pdf. Thats a good price per gram, i wouldnt be intrested in pelleted seeds as they have a short shelf life but if you find some intresting varietys ill chip in on the cost and send mine to the seedbank.
