Good idea guys, I put the plug in a big black trash bag. That way I can grab the bag and yank her out. It shouldn't lock tight on the Baccy I hope. It was a SOB to get out a dozen beers didn't help the matter wrestling with her either.

Anybody know if the real perique guys reuse the juice sauce when they make the real deal?

No idea, but I mixed mine back in, figure it might contain working enzymes, flavor, and nicotine. Why replace what came from the leaf with plain water.

Well back in it went mixed with some distilled water. It has been three months but I am going for a year. I has not changed much in the last month as you can see from the last pic.
I tried to get the bagged in the bucket out last night a little.
Either it glued to the sides or who knows, still not easy to get out and made a mess.
New idea. 550 cord, x made out of paracord under the leaf to work loose and one under the plug.
I kept some out for a few of you to try and give input. JBD yours is on its way as soon as it dries.
First 3 to PM me a address get a sample.

Pretty much what I thought. But what I think can be Questionable at times.
Thanks,

Mine had no where near that much juice in it, but very moist.

What kind of aroma does yours have? I am kind of worried that mine actually smells good so early in the process.

My plug is 3 inches tall, 1 gallon bucket had about 1 inch of juice in it.
First month it smells Fruity, 2 month still smells good but not as good and the sauce will start to turn to molasses.
3rd, month thick sauce and This is where I know where the Name comes from. Per ReEK.
Not Rot, But it is rocking and rolling in bucket.

Keep the water level a little over the plug a little also 1/8 to 1/4 inch.

The water is the "seal" I am doing the same thing.

The timeline really helps, sounds like I should keep some out after one month for comparison. I don't have to end up with Perique, just a good enjoyable product. Pressure cured just a month might be good for me.

Back to square one, Probably just good tobbaco. I figure my cost at 1 penny to every quarter for store bought. And thats being conservative when you consider across the nation.
