I feel I should SHARE more (don't want to but rite is rite)...
This batch I just finished - I started to use the heat control with the PC to program it. Then stopped!
I ran it with ramp increase in chunks rather than 1 or 2F an hour, This is really GOOD News...it means any 30 dollar controller
will do the job if run correctly....
and your chamber is good.

Just come in with a box full of African Red Mid Stalk left lower stalk & top.. am off to load up Batch #3 :)

That looks wonderful.

That's an understatement. I have been fallowing this thread with great interest since the beginning. I am going to have to build me a flu curing chamber now. I'm sold. Might have to wait until next season. Got to many things to do in the next few weeks to start now. But I am going garbage can shopping this week so I can make a cozy can. That Prilep of Bob's is fantastic and I gots to get me some more! Fortunately I have 36 plants growing. :D

I would love to try some flu cured African Red and see how it compares to air cured. It's my favorite tobacco for cigarettes. Been smoking nothing but 75% AR mixed with 25% KY 15 for the last couple months now. Costello is my next favorite. It's a flu cured type that air cures nicely too. Have over a 100 of those growing this year and 120 African Reds. I could make good use of a flu curing chamber. I might have to think about going Chicken sized.

Just as an FYI I played around with this idea for a while before deciding I didn't need to flue cure. If you are going the cpzy can route you might want to consider a 55 gallon drum. My plan was to sit the drum on a heat source, insulate the hell out of it and space the top as necessary for any required venting. This would give you just a bit more space without a lot of extra effort. You can get drums with removable tops or you can just use a deheader and then make the top fit somehow. It might be worth a little thought.

Photos changed loading method got 217 leaves in it with lots of room for air flow.
My little Buddy got hung out to dry on a piece of wire Poor Fella..

Loaded groups of 4 on wire laced around the Tines of my racks so I can see in between when the leaf has yellowed. Hopefully I'll get more insight
as to what is going on, and hung a few along the ceiling.

Very impressive! Have you tastes any of it yet?
You prompted me to shred some....
1st it is very blond and is starting to smell pretty good in the bag - sweet not like grass or hay
Smoking - it is a mild smoke not strong or harsh no green taste, can feel the nicotine. Can't really put my finger on taste other than young not bad at all just fresh.
Can't wait to age some and try it....the Kutsaga for me is going to be a good tobacco.
Got a small refer in the garage have not use in 4 years, this morning I have been thinking about it - my chamber will be tied up for a while Flue Curing.
Did a check to see if I have things needed to convert it to a Kiln and I do all but a dry wet bulb set-up I going out to get two thermometers and the little fridge
gets converted. Very cool a new project.

You better pad lock the curing chamber door! I been thinking about getting knucks and bama and maybe chicken to film us stealing that African Red while you sleep. What day should it be finished?

I thought I was seeing things lol. I haven't really picked anything yet but have been saving the dead leaves from the bottoms of my plants. The virginias seem to air cure with a very slight pink in them.
