Nice job on the patch. That was a lot of work, too. Our second year looks to be starting off well. I feel a lot more confident now than I did a year ago. I'm looking forward to seeing that patch full grown. It's going to be awesome.

Wow, That patch looks nice, straight, clean a work of Art.
That is something to appreciate since you did it with minimal tools and no seat with a tiller behind you.
God Bless your Back.

Even with the sore muscles, it is gratifying work.

Just went and checked the big patch, minimal storm damage, all my landscape cloth was pulled up and in the neighbors yard, but the routes still look good and ready for planting this weekend. :)

That's good to here, mine will be a washout thank god I did not put the plastic mulch down.
I don't know what you used for the weed barrier but the wind likes to pick it up and once you put holes in it it really takes off in the wind breaking off the starts. It might sound like work but you might want to bury all the edges under dirt. Like a mulch layer does. I use one and still lose some plastic to winds.

Well they are almost to the lights now. Some are getting leggy due to the planting delay.. Hopefully most will be in the ground by end of the weekend.13990764695440.jpg

500, a large grow for a home grow tending the patch will keep you out of jail and provide tobacco for a few years.
I am not growing this year, I do have the bug though. Thinking next year I'll grow again just for fun - learned a lot last year.

Roughly 250 in the ground today. More tomorrow. Good progress. Enjoying the huge row spacing.13991601497390.jpg

Looks Good, Looks like you had a workout burying the row covers.
Been there and done that, it sucks. You missed a few spots on the left row.u:D
I hurt too, Picking rocks all day again, I missed a few too.
Lets Pray for some Super Weather this Year.

Dirt on the row covers is actually to protect the plants. A thin layer around each one. I found last year if the leaves droopped enough to lay on the cover material they would scald and be damaged. This year, enough dirt around each plant on top of the cover to prevent leaves from contacting the material.
