Where did you get your seed? That looks like spinach. Leverhead, you ever see any tobacco look like this before? This beats all I ever saw.

You're just a ballbuster tonight! It does look like it will make a nice salad though. I'm just a little jealous though, he's got bigger leaves than I do.

Nice progress you got there Firsherman! I can't wait to see my plants this weekend to start transplanting one or two per plug spot so they don't over crowd each other. Then by the time I come back the next week they will be well off. I will be updating my log this weekend with new pics and stuff.

Im not that weak but yu did scare hell outa me fer a second! :)

I pretty well figured that yu was joking tho and lets face it ..................... it woulda been hella funny too if they were spinach LMAO

Mike

PS I swear i can hear them plants growing... I think im gonna try 5 gallon grow bags instead of 5 gallon buckets... The buckets will be bad in 2nd year anyway I would bet money on... I think im gonna try what that Larry fella did on yutube with the Walmart bags if they hold 5 gallon except make a trough outa 2x4's and black plastic and set them in. maybe set in a vegetable one in between just to keep evapration down to minimum. The the spinach might have a place. :)

My 3" cups came in and will at this point make 50 buckets for rain gutter system and then 150 grow bags using Larry's kiddie pond/trough system

Well, thank you for taking it like that. I don't have the experience on the forum that Bob has. He's seen them come and go. It honestly never occurred to me that I might drive someone off by joking with them, but I do realize now that there are some pretty touchy thin skinned folks out there. I'm glad you're not one of them. I offer my hand in friendship. Will you accept and let bygones be bygones?

Way i see things is that farmers , fisherman and ranchers all BS a lil.... You have to or life will throw that curve ball from hell at ya and you wont know which way to go :)

I am doing good so far..... but the storys of starts dying from fertilizer stills my ever anxious fertilizing hand and the story of the spooted moldy leaf... I can just imagine.... burrrrrrrrrrrr

All is well and later in year , yall all come fishing with me and we chew the fat while chewing some speckled trout....

Mike

Re: Fisherman's grow blog

3-15-13: Late at night.... It is dark and chilly:

Ok decided what Im gonna plant. I am going to use 50 5-gallon buckets and remained will be 5 gallon grow bags......

What kind of potting mix should I use ??? I was going to use peat/vermiculite mix and add some limestone and some epson salts from advice I see but would really be nice to have a formula for these pots.

Im going to use troughs to water them in and use float valve as well. This pretty well means I have to use a wicking type mix......

It's not that I have not researched this but my thoughts are a little jumbled at the moment and over the next week will be re analyzing the data for final decision.
Wow that last word was hard to spell!:)
