That organic matter in a hole Idea is awesome. I could see that working in a trench type row too.

The grow it self is just outrageous , we'll probably have some rain this afternoon /evening and I'll see how that rain will affect the plants.
But I just love this idea with organic matter in a hole without any chimney as u would have in a compost where it all goes to WasteLand.
Yea sure chillard , a trench would workout just as fine.
The only downside I can find is that if anyone is that one should do it now when the Green is still sort of fresh an nutritious
That changes for us around Midsommer in the end of June.
It happens very slowly , everythin turnin yellow in 2 months time or so.

I give back what nature/soil has given me , what can be more natural than that ?
When this summer of 2014 is over every plant will start to rot , even the tobacco will do so.
The difference is that all them nutrients will take its way to the sky while mine woun't.
When N takes to the sky you have something called The GreenhouseEffect , that is what will happen if I build a compostbox , so I'll never do that.
Using this here method of soilization most of the nutrients will stay put in the ground.
The holes I drilled and filled with organic matter last year , I can now enjoy the fruits of that work.

soilization means take care of the soil, so you don't lose the nutrient and organic matter levels,
I'm not saying that is unnatural lol just saying that is a question of time ,is how nature works, green organic matter needs to decompose and for that to happen
N will bee needed from the soil.
carbon dioxide and N and different composts, N is everywhere naturally co2 to but in different proportions.

You have to wonder how much plant biomass is consumed in order to produce a single pork chop and a single egg. It's like the legend of burying a perfectly nutritious fish in order to grow a single ear of runty corn.

Don't know what happened to her cultivation of tobacco , using the chop + egg as a means of fertilizer.
Am not really interested either.

I was watching your other answer, there 2 things I don't understand
you do the soilization to get the results of it the next year? or the actual yield you are growing?
the other thing is do you do the soilization at the same time you apply the calcium nitrate?

I drilled 100 holes in the ground last year ( 2013 ) in July/August and stuffed the holes full with organic waste .
Holes could be 50-90 cm deep and 15 cm wide .
To get as much organic mass in them holes as I could , I used the my soilddriller to pack the mass of Green.
I use the Calcium Nitrate this year , since it has a very sudden impact on the plants and soil.
Good things take time.

I drilled one hole 100 times and filled it with organic matter and now I have 5 grandkids.
I totally agree that good things take time.
Your baccy will do well for generations to come.
My grandkids will grow up with the perception that tobacco is a sin and all my homegrown stash will have to be auctioned off on FTT.

;):p:rolleyes::cool::) See what you you mean BarG and I'm glad you've got some fine results with your organic matter + I guess u had great fun doing it too even though you drilled the same hole a 100 times......
I've been drilling 100 domestic/foreign different holes but I have no kids or grandkids
Much obliged , and I think this is the way to go , think I can skip the Calcium Nitrate and just go with the organic matter x the holes and urea ( indirect cost perhaps) in the future. No cost and still great results.

Pic from last year using nettles in the water barrels , using a bike+cart for transportation. You can if you want.

You have a great sense of humor and I appreciate that. What you are doing is wild to say the least. Good luck and if any help can come from here I hope it makes your dreams come true. Whatever you do , don't plug them holes [All 100.]

I would not be messing with the nettles here in texas the way you do . There is not enough urea in the world worth it. When your a kid in Texas the last thing you want to do is have to piss on yourself due to BullNettles. The ammonia in your pee kills the sting. I say kid because all the adults know better.

Since nettles might not contain that much N I add that into the barrels with the Yellow Stuff.
As I've read it , it comes down to this.

Nr 1 Fertilizer : Urea
Nr 2 - '' - : Grassclippings
Nr 3 - : - : ChickenManure
Nr 4 - ; - : CowManure
Nr 5 - = - : HorseManure

In other words Don't get stuck in a rut!

Find your own way , have fun doing it I'd say ;)
When I take down to the square here in Halmstad where there's many people in commosion , I can bring my own made dinner on a plate an eat it in the shade of a few trees and really enjoy myself.
People I know ask me , where did u buy that stuff and the reply is that I made it myself . They are astonished and I can't see why . Whats the problem ? Can one do like that , 'course u can , just do it.
Nike said the same thing , just do it and thats what I'm doing.........
Bringing coffee to the square , same thing , same reply.
Mad says Bring it on when he eats GrassHoppers in a tortilla.
