Think this here plant is either a Russian Stalingradskaia OR one Ditto Sorotooskaia
Its about 1 Meter Tall and carries big leaves and I have fed it well.
It is sitting in a 10-15 cm depression to make it easier to water .

A kinda funny thing happened today , I was gonna boil some potatoes to have with my pickled herring and must have been a bit mixed up 'cause instead of turning the hotplate on the stove I turned the handle on the oven up to 300 F where I had some backer in a batch for a friend ;)
It must have been like this for 1/2 hour or so until I realized the plate wasn't turned on.
Burned holes in 2 lids of respective batches in the middle , I make about 3 kilos for him.
Fortunately I happened to find new lids that fitted the batches and could Just Do It again........
Too quick in the hands this time an head was empty.
A guy I know who is from south of where I live and now retired once went over to The States to visit a relative in NYC.
Here , his name is Tom , but if you translate Tom from swedish to english it means empty , and thats just what he did , when they shoock hands they said their names and he said his name was empty ;)
To just come up with the idea is just outof this world

One Majestic Russian Makhorka Strain ( in my eyes) standing close to 4 feet high 42 '' + the depression at 4'' = 46 '' or 3,83' tall

We had a short kinda heatwave ( 85 ) over us some 10 days ago but sort of average now those 10 days. That could've been the trick.
A new wave is on its way in over us again , starting Monday next week , depending on what forecast u look at some say its going to last for 5-7 days an do good.
But one never knows , anything can happen.
This is the tallest I got , and I think it is tall enough now. Understand very well that if some wind came in over the patch it could probably overturn them all.Thats why I try to support some of them.

Some is starting to show yellow on the sandlugs so guess I could take them home with me , but they are not too many , so I'll wait.
The other one's is just fine , showing some yellow spots here an there but more goin straight to dark brown more like.
On the patch I wanna see yellow before I start harvesting , Its The Sign To Wait For I figure.
Some take the hole plant an Stalk-Cure it , some do 1 st , 2 nd and 3rd Priming of individual leafves is what I have seen.
From what I can understand Stalkcuring seems to be a slow process , but on the other hand good things take time :)
