Crappie are mighty fine eating. Ray you should have tried the catfish, we pulled 45 big ones out today from our baskets. It took a couple of hours this pm just to get them clean, and I am usually very fast.

I only fished for 45 minutes, today. Not much going on. One 12 inch largemouth bass on first cast and one 11 inch crappie...the good news is that it took no time to filet them...threw them back. Tomorrow and Thanksgiving day are going to be the end of Indian Summer here, so i'll try again tomorrow.

I don't know exactly how much meat I wil have from each deer . I cut all the meat from the bone for jerkey , tenderloin , ham strings and the rest for burgers .
This is my prefered cuts and we do it all ourselves .This way I know what Im getting .

Thats burley and it is close to ready to strip , Still has fat stems and some live spots in the leaves . Two green sticks in between the two deers is late Ct Broad leaf , late .
Im late at tobacco stripping this year . I most usually have 10,000 to 15,000 lbs stripped out by now .

I taught my son to hunt and he is lucky as luky can be . He has out killed me the last 8 years . This year I shot a 10 piont good even rack , he goes out and kills a 11 point .
Not that racks are the best part its the meat that counts .
I let the does go to help build up the deer population on my farm .My adjoining neighbors do the same . They only take does if it is the end of season and they need the meat .
Some places are over populated with deer and does need to be taken But not where my farms are located .

MisMell'in? I don't know what you're talking about. As for the bottle, that was several bottles ago. (They don't make em as big as they used to.)

An aside -- I met a widow woman today. My G-sons are cutting up some storm damaged trees in her back yard. 88 years young and she still keeps a 100' X 200' garden with asparagus and rhubarb patches and she mows and picks leaves on her own lawn. God love her. -- John

Hello,John. Please let me translate."My smell'in" is his joking reference to his problem with "spelling",not smelling.to your aside,my great grandmother lived to be 102 years old and raised peas, corn, okra, and potatoes up until a few months before she passed away, sitting in her favorite chair,a football game on her little 12 inch television. When you keep doing what you love,it keeps you young, right up to the end.My guy really enjoys talking to all you fellas, and now i see why. You're all very interesting people.
