Rolling a cigar with a press

How does the press work? Like a mold, or are the cigars rolled in that wooden thingy?

They are a mold. They are placed in the mold in the binder, clamped tight for a few hours, then rotated 90 degrees and pressed again. It smoothes out the veins and makes the cigars pretty before the wrapper is applied. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=JHYRlzVzopo

Knuck has it but, here in the beginning of the video, is an example of the Preferido perfecto bunch, being placed in the mold for pressing.

Re-reading this post, I was tickled by this bit: "At the end of the curling arrived again the usual blank for the manufacture of cigars head is necessary." That's almost as clear as mud.

I believe this refers to a need to finish the "end" or foot with a flag, after applying the wrapper, that you'll find in the end of the video.

"Foot" = lit end

The head can be finished with a flag of wrapper.
