I am looking at shipping some stuff from Oregon back to the UK. the weight of it will be about 300kg, the cost of air freight I would need to sell one of my kidneys to pay for it. it's is about under a quarter of 20 foot container full. Have any of you got any recommendations in the best way to get this stuff over to the UK any shipping company contacts would be helpful. I think the nearest shipping port would be Portland
What I am looking at shipping is Band saw mill parts as you are unable to get these in the UK.
Any help or advice would be most welcome.

I believe the site "Microcogen" might be able to help. They brought a few containers of Lister Engines over from England a year ago. Maybe someone on there has some recommendations.

We shipped 135kg from Norwich to Spokane Washington for 403 pounds with a company called Anglia Cargo International. This was in late 2005, so prices have undoubtedly gone up since. It took about 4 days to get here. Someone along the way helped themselves to half my wife's music CD's. But everything else she packed was there.

Another friend and her husband moved from London to Washington about the same time and brought about 1/2 a cargo container of stuff. It went by ship and took 2-3 months. Dunno what that cost them.

Thanks Randy and Sky for you input. I have now managed to locate someone in Portland who is going to have a look at it and give me some costs..
