Be careful if your bulb is facing up and your tobacco is above it. If any tobacco were to fall onto the bulb you'd have yourself a nice fire in no time. I use a light bulb screwed into a metal dome shaped receptacle. If any leaf were to fall it would (in theory) just slide down the side and onto the floor.
Good point Dude. If the "shield" has air flow directly over it it helps heat distribution and keeps the "shield" cooler. Burning the tobacco in the kiln is a No-No. LOL

Bulbs cool, BUT you could use a griddle / 2 water reservoirs with suction like mine. Spend a few days tuning in the griddle starting with setting less than warm and work up to the temp. Would not use much power at all.
Something like this one vent will work add a humidistat that will go to at lest 80 RH and your in business. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Electronic-...-Humidity-Hygrometer-Controller-/111045750855

I realy like being able to see inside, you can see the temp and or humidity readings and water level at a glance if you wanted.

That thermostat will really help keep your power consumption down. If it can cycle off and on instead of running all the time.
