I’m smoking Pesse Canoe Latakia Flake 40 in a Mastro de Paja Rhodesian.
I just got a big box full of tobacco leaves today in the mail from my order a few days back. I’m finding them very entertaining. I have just been continuing to read existing posts here for the most part.

Thanks! It’s rather unique styling caught my eye when I bought it and it’s become my go to for Latakia blends, which for whatever reason, it smokes them better than any other pipe I have.

I've packed this beefy, cool-smoking pipe with Cornell & Diehl Bayou Morning [VA Bright 75%: Perique 25%] that has been allowed to first dry-away its unfortunate load of humectants over a few months. Now, it's a wonderful tobacco blend.
I find that this pipe is ideal for well-burning, medium-strength pipe tobacco blends. A bowl of a full-strength blend will knock me on my butt.

I stripped some leaf off of the ripe flue cured Virginia whole leaf I just got and smoked some in a cob. Sure there was some un-cased harshness, but I love this tobacco! What a great Virginia. I’ve already smoked another bowl of it since. Outstanding. I’m going to push some other projects aside to make time to better prepare some of it.

| This evening is Pipe Force Episode VI in a BC calabash at the moment, will probably switch up pipes a bit later. I’m leaning towards saying that this may be my favorite Virginia/Perique blend ever (so far), granted it also has stoved Katerini and a sliver of DFK. It makes me wonder what I could come up with in blending a VaPer myself. I’m already convinced from checking out a number of the whole leaf Virginias I’ve got that I can come up with some straight Virginia blends that I will easily prefer over many commercial blends, heck, I’ve already been reaching for some of the plain leaf instead as it is, but the whole experience of VI is giving me a lot of inspiration to spend a bunch of time and tobacco seeing what I can do.  |
I got a couple ounces of Perique from a local shop and mixed up an ounce of just about every perique blend from @deluxestogie s books that I could make from the ingredients in the WLT sampler. The description of this one sounded like a personal challenge so it was the choice for tonight.
