Says the King of flue curing on the his forum....although Colllin is hard on your heels.
He has a good run going on nice leaf.
I think he has my ass kicked on Quality vs Quantity on last yrs run.
Keep up the good work Collin.:)

The group feedback here the last couple years has made results like this possible for the home grower.

Collin, you have it nailed down this year, would love to hear your current setup and curing schedule.

Well if all goes according to plan...when I assemble the materials I've acquired. For my future kiln.I'll be cooking up some nice leaf.

Although I must say.last years cooking went very well

I have two more runs to do after the one I have in the chamber and then I will give you a run down on what I have done to inprove my cure's for this season. I could not have of accomplished any of this without the imput of the members of this forum and are very appreciative.

Will look forward to your sharing.

I am shredding last year's leaf this week, and finding some nice stuff that has held color well. Just not as consistent as I would like.14587890698020.jpg

Nice looking stash, did you check the moisture.
I am doing that from now on since I lost a bunch of bags to my buddy Mr. Mold:mad:

Nice looking stash for future use...makes me want to rig a pulley to my hand crank shredder...and put a motor and dimmer switch on it..my arm would fall off if I shredded all that.

Individual bags mitigate risk of mold vs. Bulk storage. It now gets a couple weeks in the kiln to age and blend.

As an additional precaution, after two weeks, I will open the bags on end within the totes and run them in the kiln about an additional week, or until rh falls to about 40, then seal the bags. This is too dry to smoke but rehydrates easily and ensures safe storage.

Do you shred first and put it into bags and then kiln. Or do you kiln first and then shred.

Do you shred first and put it into bags and then kiln. Or do you kiln first and then shred.

I have done both with good results. Kilning after shredding means I can fit my whole crop in a single run.

If leaf is kilned prior to shredding then I still like to put my shredded, blended baccy in the kiln for a few days, seems to really complete the blending process.
