I told Charly, when I sent him seeds, that plant uniformity was poor, at least for me. I collected seeds from the healthier and best performing plant I had, but evidently Symbol4 needs more selection. Can you confirm my observations about suckering (nearly none before flowering) and ease of cure Gav?

Here is what I can tell about Symbol 4 :
The Symbol 4 I am growing this year (seeds from Pier, thank you ) are growing well, they are one of the few strains showing good resistance against PVY (Potato Virus Y), but they are showing now some sympots of blue mold (I think)
They are very uniform (I am only growing 8 plants of it), the plants are 1.70m high (5.6 feets), I topped them at this size when the flower heads were showing.
The biggest leaves from it measure 56x46 cm (22x18 inches)
They show very little suckers before flowering, the leaves are brighter (green/yellow) than any other strains I have grown so far.
They seem to air cure easily (I waited long before harvesting).

To compare with ChinaVoodoo, I can say that this is an easy strain, but my leaves were not mature/ripe at all before flowering, I harvested the mud lugs just before the flower heads appeared.

nice color! Goose Creek Red seem easy to color-cure. Mine too, is yellowing very fast.

And a good yield(efficiency) he(it) pushes as well that my Gold leaf or Yellow Orinoco but a little less than the Cherry red or the bamboo shot...

BigBonner grows his tobacco as a "field of tobacco." I grow my tobacco in a garden. Although there is no confusion by using either term, "field" suggests a larger scale than "garden".

"Earth," "ground," or "soil" can equally describe what we cultivate. "Soil" is more of an agronomic term.

I buried plants between May 25th and June 10th that is approximately 90 days of the growth and they remain green except the already collected(harvested) legs of mud.

J'ai mis les plants en terre entre le 25 mai et le 10 juin soit environ 90 de croissance et ils restent verts hormis les pattes de boue déjà récoltées.

The forecast rain should not be a problem for plants still in the field. Mold may be a problem with harvested leaf.
