They are slouching compared to Larrys, I'll tell you that. Mine are coming around with unusual july weather.A day late and a leaf short.

John,

Its my grandfathers cattle brand. A Bar above the G.

I still have and use his original. I use it on woodworking projects where the client cant see
[Only hiding from view].;)I have a newer smaller version that is still to big for my liking. I want one about ring size. I just heat em up and burn the brand in em. Ouch!

Still got an iron to put in the fire? I was kinda thinkin' on how to treat poachers so's they don't forget the experience.
On the other I never heard of branding a chicken. ;)

Hey, BarG. I'm taking a forced break from tending my plants due to 3 straight days of rain, 5" to 6" so far. I hope it stops real soon too. Anyway, while I'm restin' up a bit I thought I would read a few posts to see what's happening and stir things up a little bit around here.

Fine looking patch you have there, but I see you missed a weed or 2 over there by Bonner's Burley.:D Must be nice to laze around all day and evening and write up a bunch of posts here.

On a serious note, did you ever find a source of chlorine free water? And I can also back-up what you are talking about with regard to BigBonner's plants cause they are growing really good compared to the ones I started.

Heres an update since afternoon rains most days for the last couple weeks.

The rains and milder temps high 80's to mid 90's are unusual here for july.

I was getting worried about my late plantings. But now I'm pleased as punch!

I have all the silk leaf harvested and the lower and middle lugs on the Havana 41. I think The havana 41 and Pa. Red are going to be a for sure thing to grow next year. I cleaned out an old fridge in my shop to start trying as a kiln. We'll see how that goes.

Today I primed the lower lugs on the burly and a few on the maryland.

Most of the mud lugs are primed on every thing except for Huehuetenago The MC and the Guatemalen.

All the bursa and ottoman have been topped except for the bagged ones and a few late starts.
As well as the Ct. Broadleaf ,Havana 425 and most of the Fl. Sumatra, I'm still choosing between a couple few to bag one.
One of the few YTB plants got bagged today but they aren't all topped.

Between Bt every few days, and picking worms and eggs on a daily basis before work, They havn't hurt me too bad.
I find a bunch of eggs on my primed leaves too. I'm glad most of my priming from here on out wont have a layer of mud and sand on them, makes a lot more work, I lightly brush the good leaves when its good and dry so the dirt don't fall all over me since I'm hanging on my porch again. I'm hoping to stalk cure a bunch of the bursa and ottoman and play with a little sun curing to keep from stringing so many leaves. I'm not sure the best way to do them.

Thanks Ray, yours looks good too. My bursa and ottoman needed that rain to get there height , they have a lot of good sized leaves.

unfortunatlly, i had a lot of b.t.

but did little spraying, so i got's some holes,

perhaps next year i'll do a steady regiment of spraying, and see what i got,

but i got yard chickens,

i like to pluck off a worm, and watch my chickens deal with his ass,

I paid extra special attention to anything that could make a good wrapper and binder.

theres our difference,

i plan on shredding ALL mine up, so you wont notice, any holes,

allthough just 4 days ago, i planted my ct. shade leaf, so i may keep that,,and my upcoming sucker crop sprayed real good,

and see the results,

Great patch BarG. I just lay my turkish out in the sun and give it a few days of full sun without getting rain. The leaves turn a nice golden brown. I had to prime some and hung them under porch and they are the same. Hornworms here are a major problem, even with BT.

GREAT LOOKING PATCH Tim. You're gonna be busy as a one armed paper hanger at harvest time. You have enough space to color cure?

John

Why thank you John, my plants had some realy good godparents this year.;)

I'll be confiscating a lot of my 24' x 30' carport with about 101/2' peak for some stalk curing and some of that
string pole hanging on a movable stand if need be.
