IMG-20141224-00090.jpg its just gone 12 pm in SA and it is hot, realy hot, reacon about 38+ Deg C in the sun. I've got criollo 98 and Com Spanish next to each other in the one bed, same water, same fertilizer etc. The Com Span is realy struggling in the heat, C 98 handles it much better. Strange how plants differ.

I grew Comstock Spanis both under shade and full sun. Sun grown was always like yours, wilted during the day, but shade grown was always up. Shade grown Comstock Spanish produced thin wrapper grade leaves. You may check this thread for the comparison.

S Harlley, when its hot like that the humidity is in the 50s, tomorrow 100% chance of rain, Temp 30 ( thank goodness) humidity in the high 80s. The problem is, it doesn't cool down enough in the evenings, good for tobacco but s.... For us humans. Night temp about 28 on hot days.

I have concluded that the "day wilt" is normal for some varieties. As long as they recover after a few hours of shade in the evening, you have little to worry about. If still wilted early in the morning, they need more water.

BTW, looking good!

Take pleasure Cigar, our southern hemisphere growers allow us to live vicariously through our winter months.

Rainmax not much sun at the moment, Had a massive storm last night, just above my house is a 45 Ha land with no contours, to let the water out the land, with the storm all the water from the land ended up in my yard, and in my tobacco. Luckily they are fully grown and okay, wouldn't have been if they were smaller. Rain predicted for the whole week.
