Ah! A bottle of 'dog'! It's not got the image it used to have over here in the good old days ... but I have a certain soft spot for the old dog. It's certainly unique ... but it also has a (slightly justified) reputation for messing with your, ahem, morning routine shall we say!

1st time I bought that Ale is sold by the bottle, hell man I agree the label is plain but thought the ale to be pretty good. Did not mess with my morning ether, I don't drink much so it did hit me.
I'd buy it again..
That stogie is pretty beat up looking, I really like the dark air burley. I made something like 15 smokers today and straighten out some broadleaf should make a nice binder / wrapper after I sweat it a bit...
Am hooked now

From starting this I have made myself something like 30 cigars. I gave a few away and have smoked most of em myself.
Can you fellas tell me what makes a good binder / wrapper? Why is it some will burn inside but not so well outside with pectin on the butt end only.

I find I like making them as much as smoking them

If the wrappers still abit wet it will burn like that. .when they've sat in humidor (or tupaware cont. With abit of sponge in it) for a while afterrolling they should dry and balance out..I good binder should be abit stronger-medium case (even thicker ) than the wrapper..to hold the shape..a good wrapper consists of a strong thinner. .stretchy leaf..thin/less veins..also to make the cigar look good..some people think its more than just a cosmetic thing...that makes up the whole taste..some dont even bother with wrappers if you're just smoking them yourself. ..or use twice as much binder..
Theres something calming and relaxing about sitting back havin a drink and a nice fat cigar or pipe contemplating your day. No wonder your hooked brent...its a thinking mans passtime..

I'm with ya' Brent.
I'll sit down and roll 6 or so, get to thinking about another size or blend and roll 6 more. Start thinking about that not being enough, then roll a few more. I really enjoy rolling on a good rainy day.

I also find that if after they are a little wet after rolling, roll them in news paper strips and a paper towel for a day or so, till they feel dry. I then place them into the humidor for a few days before smoking. When I started rolling, my cigars were to wet (with the pectin) and some would not burn properly. After getting my pectin consistancy right and using the above mentioned steps, it seemed to cure my problems.

Thanks Guys
I ordered some leaf - Cigar Wrapper Sampler, Dominican Seco, and Dominican Ligero. I have Broad Leaf a few burleys and fire cured already so it should get me going with more understanding of what I'm wanting for Cigars.
What I'm getting from your replies is my cigars are still to wet and pectin maybe to heavy. So I will work on that I did see in a video about wrapping in paper I will try that and also a sponge in the container.
Am thinking of getting or making a Mold and Ring Gage, but in the air on it. I don't need a ring gage but hear people tossing out ring sizes and have no idea what they represent, If I buy one than I will know.
I have one cigar left from what I have made and will likely make more today. I am not a drinking man but love ale so it goes on the shopping list to be had with a stogie in the evenings.

Ring size is the circumference in 64th of an inch. Your wifes flexible measuring tape will tell you ring gauge. I just know how many leaves it takes to make the size cigar I like to smoke.

I thought it was diameter. You can get the diameter by dividing the circumference by Pi (3.14...).

I think you're right. No wonder Amax is confused with knuckleheads popping up with bad info all the time.
