Another update then. Im not sure what these plants were fed during the last week but they did take off like i fed them a hefty dose of steroids. The last 2 (one small stalk black mammoth and one connecticut shade) got their final pots today as their roots had started growing quite agressively through the bottoms of the 2l containers they were housed in.
I also raised the saucers up on wooden 2x4s so i could install tubes to drain them to a central vessel. It made the pots a bit higher, i hope i wont regret that if they try to grow through the roof of the tent later.

In other news these leaves are getting huge. I very much believe that going for 5 plants instead of 6 was the correct choice. Maybe 4 would have been an even better idea we shall see.

I have been doing a bit of reading and it seems like uv (especially uvb) light makes a difference in what flavors are made by the plants. I might get one or 2 reptile uvb bulbs and run em in the light fixture on a timer.

so far the fans seem to be working out great. I am probably gonna have to move them as the plants mature though. I cannot keep moving the ones on the poles up forever as i wont have any airflow down in between the leaves.

Not sure how i would mount em or where but ill figure that one out as i go i guess.

When a plant grows roots, it hardly grows upward, then it starts to grow very quickly.
I remember that from the chilis etc i grow. Dont think they are as energetic when they get going so this surprised me quite a bit. especially the stems have thickened up significantly.

Scratch that its flowering time. which i guess means i need to quicken up getting the uv bulbs and that i can probably save the other 2 plants still in small pots that i almost discarded.

What is the leaf count per variety? That's more important than how tall the plants get at harvest time. Those plants have very closely spaced leaves, if your leaf count is right you are going to have a normal harvest. They also still have some more growing to do. They look great.

one of the criollo 98 (bottom right) in front has 8 big leaves and a total of 16 including the top ones that are still growing, im not counting the 2 closest to the bud. The back right one looks the same but i havent counted it. Altough the bottom 2 leaves look a bit smaller than the ones directly above em.

the burley 9 (back left) has 16 leaves total and around 9 big ones, again not counting 2 closest to the bud.

Stem is about 45cm high so they have grown quite low and compact.

Saying that i also removed a few smaller/not growing leaves resting on the coir a bit ago so the total leaves produced is probably slightly higher.

The window plant under the smaller lights has started yellowing from the bottom. Im quite sure these arent mature, they might not be getting enough nutrients or just not getting enough sun.

Top leaves are still quite green and uniformly colored.

but the lower ones have started yellowing properly
