My latest Perique Press

Ok, so when I said I was drinking coffee until it was time to switch to scotch or whiskey..I fibbed a little . I grabbed a vanilla porter instead and the first sip reminded me of the taste and aroma of perique...is that weird or what?

Many of the different home-made Perique samples that Jitterbugdude sent out (a couple of years ago), sourced from multiple forum members, carried a prune/fruity (almost botrytis wine) aroma. I discovered the residual baggies of them just last week. They came blended with finely shredded bright Virginia. I dumped them all together, and have been enjoying the resulting ~ounce of this Virginia/Perique blend.

I do see quite a few VaPer blends...I'll be trying that for sure.

stuck my nose over the pressed cup ...its bubbling nicely and even though its quite early it has that perique smell to it.
The oak box is doing ok too . I keep trying to tighten the clamps(I have 4 clamps on that one) and I can't turn them much.
