Seasons are fantastic things ... you should never mourn them!

We just got our first warnings of frost ... just a tiny bit on the hills at the moment and I'm sure my garden and allotment are safe for a little while longer ... but it won't be long until the warmth of the summer gives way to proper frosty autumn nights.

When all the leaves fall from the trees - I'll be out collecting them all to make leaf mould out of so I can use it as a mulch on my beds next year to keep the weeds away and add good organic matter to the soil to help it's structure become richer and more crumbly. And on the really cold days - those are the ones I will be inside rolling Rustica twist chew and grinding in to snus flour.

I've always loved fall changes!

Our weather will finally go below 100* F next week, and am very thankful since I'm doing a fall grow right now.

I'm very glad to hear that you did Amax , hope I can something similar for next year or better.
Are you planning on growing a few plants 2015 yourself ?
Got that so called itch , it would be harder to stop growing than than it would be to quit snus.
The day I die , I want to have snus under my upperlip ;)

Took a few shot's just a short while ago and they all seem to look about the same with 1-2 exceptions.
The sun broke throught just now this morning and let's see what impact that will have on them.
They are just a few tiny plants as u can see , depending on poor peat soil which I thought was much better than it actually was.......

I don't know what impact the chlorophyll will have on snus. Worth finding out. Doesn't look like a severe frost from the pictures either. I'd try em.

As I understand it , reading this link https://www.uky.edu/Ag/TobaccoProd/FactSheets/PDF/Minimizing Frost Damage in Tobacco.pdf it seems like chloryfyll is leaking when being exposed to frost.
Sunshine is supposed to be the right kind of medicine these plants need , '' The key to recovery from frost is sunshine'' according to uky.
Now we have some good rays from the sky and I'll see how they respond to them over this weekend.
A new phenomenon for me as I never been experienced this before.
Slightly exciting is what I think this is , fun if sun can make them recover. :)

At last the good patch is ready to go into hibernation for this season , been working/turning soil for quiet a while now , all in my own very pace/a few hours each and every day.
Not doing any trick here with them sticks , just marking the spot where I aim to plant next years plants , since every spot is prepared with organic waste 2 ' down in the ground/soil.
Pics is from every angle imaginable............almost
Dang , that weed is growin again :D ( take care of that next year )
This year we have been hit by theft , as many as 8-10 plotowners has had vegetables and other stuff stolen from their patch.
A really sad sign , figure it will continue next year.Guess they didn't know what my tobacco was and got perplexed when looking at it.......:)
And yes , you're quiet right , have to buy/get some 30 more slabs for next year too

The Patch did look similar to this last year , but reckon it's more tidy now than sept -13.
Took me almost a month to turn the soil over , but now its done and it feels just great.
A hole lot of earthworms in the ground and they'll have plenty to eat from since a while back , I try to take good care of them cause they do a fine job downthere.

It's getting better by time it seems to me
My predecessors didn't have the sharpest knifves in their drawer , when they found out it was high time to plant whatever they were about to do it was late June 2013.
The hole patch was full of weed and these 2 guys and 1 gal didn't really know what to do with it , ended up with them digging up AND transported DIRT and weed in a wheelbarrel and dumped it all in a ravine we have as a wastearea........
So , I guess I'm a bit short on topsoil ;) 4 '' overall I figure

I can tell those who might be interested that I tried a snus made from the Rustica I grew this season and it is pretty good actually.
Can't leave any characteristics on form of flavor or taste just yet think something is going to turn up in a matter of time.
