Sigges first grow (cigar tobacco in greenhouse)

Update 26.7.2020

I topped some of the tallest ones and made some supports. The leaf size of the tall ones is pretty disappointing. Maybe I should have topped earlier?



At the left side of rhe picture are Criollos, they have grown most vertically and needed support the most.



While Havanna long leaf has a nice bushy growth and truly lives up to its name, longest leafs being over 70 cm allready. Ct broadleaf has also grown nice and low.



Some leafs are allready starting to show signs of ripening, even if it is only a week or so from flowering. Or is this nutrient deficiency, I dont know?





Now I'm going to prepare for the priming, feels good!

Oh yeah. And my outdoor mystery grows at my house have also grown. These havent flowered yet and the size is naturally much smaller than ones in the greenhouse.

I would guess there is one Criollo here haha.



The green snail/slug barriers have worked really well.

Harvest time!

Oh boy, I am starting to feel that maybe 50 plants was a little too much for me.



Wall of leaf that awaited me after 3 weeks of neglecting. I still left the top leaves to fully mature, and I am allready out of curing space.



Leaf has nice quality with close to no holes. It is very thing though, even soft brushing makes scratch marks to the leaves.



Today I bunched the sorted leaves and hung them to color cure. Big ones to bunches of four and smaller ones to bunches of 6. Finally I have some usage for the "tea cabin" at the back of the picture.

My "curing barn" is stuffed now. I tested this setuo with the tobacco I had in my yard. Some of the leaves dried green, but it was hotter then plus this much leaf in the space must bring also more moisture, right? I will block direct sunlight with something while keeping the door open for proper air circulation.



I figured that my garage is too dry for color curing so I decided to decorate my outer wall with the leaves. If I had a girlfriend, I think we would have an interesting conversation about this solution.

I still have one big stack of leaf, I thought that I will try the cardboard box method since I am anyway falling short with places to hang the leaves.

Now I am starting to make the curing chamber. I have an idea of replacing the crock pot with sous vide circulator. That way the temperature control is pretty accurate and easy.

yea i just hung hung 15 stalks to cure and still have about 10 Izmir stalks to hang. Then all the stalks in the ground suckering and making new plants I have to pull up and get rid of. I'm thinking next year I'm going to do less even though I have the room.
