Thank you for using a "Deluxe" coffee cup.

It's from Dimex SA used as a ''take-away", now in the Quarantine period which the ****** decide at least till the 30th of November we have to use such items. According to the 2019/902/EU Directive the ******* at 2022 will apply an environmental tax (plus VAT) on items like this which will be calculated separately for the caps, that means a total cost of 0,10 $ for the customer.
As the ****** explained, Greece is the first EU country to bring the entire Directive for harmonization one year earlier than its implementation deadline in July 2021, so that the market and the citizens can adapt smoothly to the new data.

I smoked some aged burley flake this morning.
This is my first tobacco i had some throat hit but i like it. I had some problems in the past where i find many pipe blends a little bit weak and flat but this has a nice full body the entire bowl through.
Some reviews say that this has quit some nicotin punch, but i think it is okay.
Which is quiet funny because i`m not a big smoker, i have no cigarett background and i also dont smoke pipe that often (maybe 1-4 times a week sometimes nothing at all :D )

So i tried a aromatic again. It is the Vauen Auenland The Shire tobacco. It is an aromatic pipe tobacco which has an apricose/fruity topping.
Nice sidestory. Lord of the rings introduced me to pipes in my teenage years. But i have to admit I haven't got a real rustic churchwarden yet :(

Despite that i have to say that it seems that i need some stronger blends. Once the topping (which is good) is gone you are basically smoking a really mild tobacco and dont taste anything at all (which isnt good).

In the past i had some Full Virginia Flake from samuel gawith which i need to try again soon.
I did a lot of errors when i first started pipes. My biggest mistake was that i smoked the tabacco to wet and that i have had no idea how dry it should be.
I think the mistake starts, when beginners are told to start with aromatics which become tasteless if they dry out. Which isnt true for good flakes or english blands and with flakes it leads to absolutly bad burning qualities if they are to wet.

The amount of humectants used in some commercial blends is enough to inhibit combustion. It's actually difficult to dry out some tobaccos. I find a flake can be right crispy and smoke well, but shredded tobacco needs to have at least a bit of spring to it.

Last smoke of the night for me. I'm smoking some red virginia, bright virginia & burley with some dark fired, from whole leaf tobacco that I pressed back in February. It turned out pretty good with enough dark fired leaf to make it enjoyable and it burned well. The first dark fired plug I made, I added too much dark fired leaf and it over powered the virginia and burley. I quickly learned to pay attention to the parts/weight that I put into a blend. I have made an exceptional blend or two, and found out that I missed on writing down how much of a certain leaf type I've added. When you smoke a great blend and think, wow that's really good, but find you can not replicate the blend, is really a bummer. I guess I needed that lesson though, and the funny part is, I know I read that important information before I started.

Red leaf virginia. A lot tamer than I thought it would be straight. Very little bite, subtly sweet, and clean tasting.

I think I may switch to clay pipes for taste testing tobacco. Until I get to the last of the dottle it seems to be a better option than corn cobs. If I smoke the last bit I do get a weird hot clay powdery taste, but until then its all tobacco.

I smoked some vauen 150 year edition aromatic with my corn cube this evening.
But to smoke outside slowly becomes really cold at 0°- 2° celsius.
The aromatic is a little bit better than the auenland i tridd last time and is more frutiy but i have to say that it is to weak again.

I ordered some old dark fired, illsted full virginia and university flake to try some more pure blends again (all flakes).

Do you think it will be a better chioce ?
As a reference i should maybe say that i liked the cuban puritos (cigar) a lot. I had the partagas and they tasted really full and gave a great taste of coffe and earth if i smoked them slow.

Fun fact. The mouth pice is fitting so tight that i dont shove it further into the stem or i need much strength to pull it out.

Seems like you need a pipe tobacco with a slightly higher pH, closer to that of cigars. Maybe:

Yes i think thats seems like it is the case for me. The aged burley flake from solvani gave me a fuller body than the aromatics.

Thanks for the recommending i will try it out the next time i order. :)
Do you think that i will have a fuller taste also with pure virginia flakes/blends ?
