I just had some 50/50 mix of Newminster Navy Flake and Balkan Sobranie match from Sutliff. If it’s a good combination, it’s not a good combination for the vast bowl of a Savinelli 320KS. Taste is OK, but the bite is pretty fierce.

I’m having a little fun smoking some tobaccos that I tend to ration too much due to scarcity, then hardly end up enjoying them at all. Right now I’m smoking late 1980’s to early 1990’s vintage Murray’s Erinmore Mixture in a Jyestha meerschaum.

I’ve been in the process of moving and setting up a new workshop for the last couple of months, focused first on the tools and machines, now I’m down to the final stage, moving all of my tables, benches etc., which I loaded in my truck yesterday and just got finished unloading today. Definitely feeling some age, my bones don’t seem to be fitting as tightly together as usual .

Im back to smoking my small batch blend of 90% PS81 and 10% Perique, in a vintage Stanwell HCA.

Today I finished the last dregs of my jar of Father Dempsey in my lattice bent meerschaum. It was OK... but I followed it up with a little Black House, with which I am becoming less and less enamored. I won't cry when it's gone, nor will I order more.

Now I'm getting all motivated... for which I'll blame the Scotch. I think I'll go fire up a little of my home grown VA in a cob while awaiting my wife's return from her road trip.

Edit: It’s not terrible. Still a bit rough around the edges, definitely requires slow sipping as it’s all VA, but it shows potential. There’s a pound or two of kilned leaf in the garage that I’m gradually bringing back into case so I can do something with it.

I decided it was time to cut into a block of my own slightly modified Exmoor blend of Red Virginia/Perique/Dark Air Cured/Krumovgrad/Burley Red Tips that I’ve been giving some time in a jar. Only about three months, but that’s been plenty to have the flavors meld wonderfully. I’m smoking it in an Ehrlich meerschaum.
