Hello from Athens-Greece, we have sun here. The good news are that i manage to extract 99,99% from my pipe smoking pictures from that damned usb stick and now my archives are secured in another two places, a SD memory card and an external HDD.

An historical tidbit:
Citadelle_blendLabel_3_5in.jpg

The label for the pipe blend, Citadelle (in 90 More Pipe Blends), shows an aerial view of Citadelle Henri, located in the steep hills just south of Cap Haïtien bay (on the northern coast of Haïti). Henri Christophe, a former slave who built the remarkable fortress, became King of Haïti until his death in 1820—probably from a stoke. He built the Citadelle to defend the newly liberated Haïti against a return of the French—who never returned.

Today was some Sutliff Balkan Sobranie Original Mix Match, in The Pipe. Yesterday I smoked some in a MM cob; I wanted a new read on whether The Pipe was worth keeping or not. After the thorough cleaning I have the stem and shank last time, I'm happy to report that it smoked quite well.

I had an entertaining night of pipe smoking last night. A couple of friends came here to Michigan from India on business. We went out to dinner and went back to my house afterwards for an evening of catching up and Guinness Extra Stout. When they came in, they immediately started looking at my pipes and telling me stories of how their fathers and grandfathers smoked pipes long ago and how they remembered it was common in India long ago but they don’t see anyone doing it anymore. They said they hadn’t even thought about it in a long time. Then they asked if I had pipes they could smoke. I set them up with pipes and I had the jar of Mac Baren Mixture out so Mixture for everyone.

We had a great night talking, drinking and smoking pipes. I gave them each a pipe and tobacco to take with them. Savinelli’s and Mixture for each of them.

Just in... Peterson 999 shorty, smooth walnut. Side by side with standard 999 tyrone for scale. First bowl was a triple Virginia, equal parts lemon, bright, and red pressed for a couple months.

But then I have to come along and kill the buzz… sorry Alpine.

Breaking in this little Sleeping Fish with a mix of FCV lemon, DAC, and Perique (all from WLT, sliced from a “carrotte”), with a little bit of Velvet Cake from The Briar Shoppe in Houston.
