I was afraid of the same thing bt, so went I up to 3oz blends. 1 squirt per 3oz baccy seems to work pretty nice.
1 spray per 3oz? Wow, that hardly counts as casing. I've been doing between 5 and 10 sprays per ounce. 5 for lightly cased. The recommendations on the casing bottles is that it is enough for one pound, so if there's 160 sprays per bottle then that comes out to 10 per ounce. One thing I found is that the casing flavor lessens over time, so I now tend to overdo it a bit to start.

Hey DonH, I'm not a big fan of casing on tobacco. I personally like the flavor of pure tobacco with nothing added, its the reason I use WLT. To me 1 squirt on 3 ounces of baccy seemed plenty.

Mine arrived today also. Good looking stuff.

Extras are nice too, especially that the lighter is BIC, not a cheap promo brand.14151469839700.jpg

I usually don't like casing as much as uncased either, but 1 spray per ounce seems pretty much the same as no casing at all. Or do you notice a difference?

On these threshed blends I'm casing more than I normally do because I am trying to make it taste like commercial cigarettes. I've also used casing on some of my homegrown blends when I'm using substandard tobacco. I had some kilning problems last year, so I've smoked most of the good Virginia types I grew and am left with the stuff that got too dark in the kiln. Casing has helped with some of those blends. Basically if the taste is off somehow, casing helps. If the blend tastes good by itself, I don't case.

What does the general purpose casing do?

Not sure...may need don to chime in here to provide guidance.

im not planning on casing the burley...kinda like pouring a1 sauce on a usda choice ribeye...

i may not be able to start on the project till the weekend...any starting suggestions from the early birds would be helpful.

regarding casing squirts...a middle ground is 4 squirts per ounce

The General Purpose casing was designed for the Halfzware or Euro Blend whole leaf blend. The Halfzware contains a large amount of Fire Cured leaf. The base flavors of the GP casing is vanilla and coffee.

Oops, thought it was for the Izmir. It actually tastes really good on the Izmir.

Don, you have outdone yourself with the current Fire Cured. A more than adequate sample, required just two beautiful leaves.14151511209601.jpg

Most people say it's the best Fire Cured they've ever had. This is the third year I've been buying from the same grower. He knows the quality I expect and does a great job providing it.

The last batch was very good, but this is another level. :)

Have not tried it solo yet. My personal preference is not to case (lack of additives is one reason for my ryo). I will be working toward two blends, one cased and one not.

I may have to pick up commercial cigs which I have not bought in near two years for comparison. Two old favorites, Marlboro Red and Camel Turkish Silver.

The new burley is way smoother, less assertive, a much better cigarette blender imo.

The threshed flue cure is super nice, honey like, a great addition to the lineup.

Took me a a day or two to realize the threshed izmir is different (?), less intense flavor wise, again a better cigarette blender imo.

Uncased combinations make for great cigs, next moving on to the casings. Don, thanks again for the opportunity.

The General Purpose casing base flavors of the GP casing is vanilla and coffee.

Can you fill in the blanks on the other two, as far as base flavor?

#1:
#2:
#3: GP = vanilla/coffee

Would love to know what to expect from the other two.
