So have 7 blends ready to send back..
will mail it on monday...
started taking a different approach with the casings midway through.

It was pretty quick figuring out the tobacco blend..you can only go so far with izmir and the fire before u need to put the brakes on them else they take over the blend.
So halfway through i started twisting the casing a bit while keeping the leaf blend consistent.

Tomorrow morning will be interesting to try those test batches

My kid tells me it smells better than my deer jerky:mad: no more jerky for him;)
You should try some of JBD's licorice dip. I dropped some from a bowstand and sent the deer running. I loved it though.
I can't get into helping here because I never measure or weigh any thing I smoke. Otherwise I would try. It's all eyeballed.;)

I turned one on its ear tonight, with a nose toward the full flavor type, basically reversed the ratio of flue cured and burley that is commonly used. Actually a good smoke, but need to drop the Izmir a bit and bump the fire cured. Then it will put hair on your chest without being harsh.

Its nice when you hit it right.

Just hit #3 and its nice...im thinking it will be the best of the bunch...

but the izmir even at a very low percentage pops a bit much.

Its possible that the izmir may need to be double shred like the dark/fire to more evenly blend it

I got mine done, mailing out tomorrow. I tried my best. 6 types of blends , I would enjoy smoking. Mabey they will match some others. I can't compare them to reg ciggs. Ain't smoked one in yrs.

You are right. Hard to compare to commercial.

Trying a new one tonight. The new burley seems to be a "game changer" can be used in larger percentage without being harsh.

Measurements in grams.
"Meat and Potato's"
3 FC
3 bur
2 turk
2 fire cured

Full flavor, pleasant smokey (not ashy) finish.

I sent out one blend close to that but less fire cured. The threshed burly puts a twist into blending.
I dumped everything leftover from the blend baggies and the leftover from the shredding bags except the fire cured into one bag last night. It makes a super smoke. The heck if I know what is in there with the casings. But it is a good smoke.
Thank You Don, I hope you can use one of my KISS samples.
