For my stalk curing (Burley, etc.), I just use a hammer to drive a 2" nail into the base of each stalk at a slant, so when the stalk is inverted, the nail can be hooked on a stretch of rope in my shed. After curing and stripping the leaf, I pull the nail with a claw hammer, and save it for next year. This method allows me to hang the fresh green plants, then scoot them closer together after they've completely wilted.

I used long finish nails nailed into my rafters and ridge beam for my Izmir.
worked out good. They look green in pic but are a nice light brown.

A full-size plant, like burley, can weigh up to 10 pounds when first harvested. I'm not sure that the base of a leaf will support that much weight.

I found the photo from my 2013 grow log. The nail is hooked over 1/8" Nylon rope. [The wire in the pic is from something else.]

I've got all sorts of nails that I use. It doesn't matter if it has a head. It looks like a head would make it more secure, but really just the angle it's driven into the stalk is what keeps it up there. I think that one in the pic is an aluminum roofing nail. (The burley was flooded last year, so the stalk is kind of runty.)

I do that also. Any nail from 8's to12 common to 16 casing, depending on stalk thickness. It works well. Whatever you have on hand.

I don't think Ill be able to plant any more this weekend. Kinna chilli too. 53 now. Turned on the oven to warm the house and dry some backer. Maybe a shredin and stuffin weekend. Mite even have time to fire up the hookah.

The rain came in here last night and is supposed to move out this afternoon. Nice slow drizzle, but my plants are ready for some sunshine. No rain expected the next nine days but plenty of clouds. The plants are looking good, but still working on root expansion, not much growth up top yet.

I still got 244 left to plant here and the leftovers at my folks place. And peppers and mators. I hope it stays cloudy.
