I pulled the simplicty 18 hp Krowler engine.
I was hoping head gasket, Wrong:mad:
She is tired. This Krowler went for 2000 hrs. And still ran super other than a litte smoke and oil consumption.image.jpg

Dang mold or whatever it is , is attacking the leftovers.
No water, left them to Dehydrate to death.

Smoke and oil. I had a jeep like that. Looked like a M1 Abraham's tank laying down a tactical smoke screen. I was once asked to please leave the line of a drive thru. The owner came out from the back and thought the joint had caught on fire..lol.

I assume you didn't bore it. What all did you replace?

Bob
too much.
The cylinders were honed and well within spec.
one piston was scuffed really bad so I replaced it.
one connecting rod was worn on the wrist pin so I replaced it.
It has one set of new Krowler rings in it and a new set of sterns.
Replaced the lifters. Push rods, springs, rockers, valves.
these early Krowler commands had valve train issues so I put the update kit in it.
I got lazy and only lapped the valves.
chucked a carb kit at it while I was at it.
I got almost everthing on greed bay for about half price of a overhaul kit. 400 bucks.
I was pissed the guy put a set of stens rings with the factory piston and dident mention it but for 45 bucks that was a hell of a deal.
I thought i Might get different compression readings between the cylinders but they are both spot on 160 after putting a few hrs on her today.
I can't find a hitch for the snowblower so I guess I will have to make that next.
The blower is like new I scored her for 145. nuts

This squirrel fur really wipes out the seedlings.

It's getting warmer finally, I guess I will pitch a tent tonight for them.
There big enough to go outside in it.

Rip out a bunch of the dubious ones, then water it well, and put the cup in the sun. If it gets roasted, no big loss.

Bob
Good thing they are a experment on conditions,
In the Same basement under very minor condition changes.
Big Difference.

Another thing I did was starve them for water.
More water in the trays the better WRONG.
Dampness is the key. To the Squirrel Nest:confused:

I have found that works well too. Mine are pretty dry before I even think about watering. Seems like they respond to the watering better when starved a little. Usually the next few days they take off with a growth spurt. Yours look to be just a few days growth ahead of my late bunch of cigar leaf.

image.jpgThese are growing like wildfire.
Leggy tho. Reaching for the sun, I flipped the trays around to reach the sun tomorrow.
I will chuck a tray out in the sunlight on Sunday to see if they survive.
