well due to crappy florida weather i didnt get a greenhouse built this weekend..allthough i did get all the materials toghter, and i am running out of room under my grow lights. im ready for that greenhouse,

so this weekend i focused on placing seedlings from a big pot. to thier individual cells,

>IMG_20150301_142857627.jpgIMG_20150301_142912697.jpgIMG_20150301_203545845.jpgIMG_20150301_203554344.jpgIMG_20150301_203603856.jpg

and in this picture. you'll notice a cat laying there.... well he's also been caught one tier up.. laying in my tomatoe tray...[ he likes to lay near warm things] them lights put off heat that draws him.

if i catch him again. laying on my plants... he may be gone,

Chicken,

Do we really need a heated seed germination mat in our area? This will be my first grow, I hope to see some seeds in the mail this week and will be planting them as they arrive. Was curious about the mat though.

well looks like the forecast [ at least till next monday ] is in the high 50's at night,,,

my babies enjoyed it outside last night,

gave them a good shot of a water / epsom salt mixture,,,

getting ready to wake the neighbours up... it's quiet in the neighbourhood right now... but soon that big semi in the front yard is going to roar to life<-----:mad::mad::mad::mad:

.................................................................................................................

took a ride up into georgia to get a empty trailer... they park them at a GIN COMPANY...they process raw cotton there. and turn it into square bales of usable cotton, [ pretty cool operation.. just noisy ]

the trash material from them doing that '' the hulls.. e.t.c. '' they pile up on the back 50',,,well this material has rotted, and is the most perfect black soil medium , i have run across yet. i'd like to have a dump-truck load of it,,, but unfortunatlly. i just get 4....> 5 gallon buckets at a time,

The ones that made it are looking good. I'm waiting on some dry weather to till again and plant.

Well i got 3 rows of weed prevention mat laid down..each row will hold 54 plants..
I got one row ready for plants.( which are.4 - 6" tall)..,i took my post hole diggers and made a nice size hole.for each plant......removing the soil and replacing it with a mixture of cow..bat...chicken poop..mixed with some potting soil.and red.georgia soil....

I think i found out why a lot of my seedlings sprouted and died...the soil i had under the vermiculite was as hard as a rock giving the roots nowhere to grow...

From now on im using soft seed starting mix for my starting medium..

Man did i luck out today...

I was delivering Fertilizer to a peanut farm..and was picking up some seeds that were on the ground.....i figured id fill in my unplanted area of the bacca patch with peanuts....

One of the guys seen what i was doing...and told me they had a piece of a.bag theyd give me....well a piece of a bag is a 1/3 of a 50lb. Bag i got enough seed to last many years..

The type seed it is .....is georgia o6g......its a big seed peaunut..early maturing runner plant..which is.disase resistant to a lot ailments...

So i guess im gonna have a big peanut crop also..

Ill try and get some pics up of where im at in my grow

Peanuts are funny plants (at least, to those of us north of the peanut belt). The stems put out thin branches, like aerial roots, that drop to the ground. The nut then forms underground, at the end. Very strange.

Well im definatlly in the peanut belt...

Ive.grown p-nuts every year for many years..i usually grow virginia jumbos..

But this variety is like the jumbos..but with some bonuses...with its early.maturity. and resistance to disease..

Hopefully ill get a good crop..and be able to store a lot of them...for many evenings of p-nut boilings..,

This weekend ill be planting a lot of " bannana leaf " bacca....omong other types...

Well I think I'm a expert at making crooked rows..
Yesterday I made another row....but this time I hammered in 2 survey stakes and run a string line....

I have 1 straight row....I'm gonna use the line from now on ...
