Gold Virginia twisted into a rope and then sliced into coins mixed 80/20 with dried and chopped Yellow Twist Bud flowers. Its nice the flowers mellow out the G.V and the G.V gets rid of the nauseous feeling I get from smoking tobacco flowers on their own.

Interesting. Any way of describing smoking tobacco flowers? By chance, have you tried Nicotiana alata flowers?

They are tobacco-y but there is a very subtle scent/taste like Frangipani or jasmine that builds up as you smoke a bowl of flowers on there own that I find makes me feel a little bit nauseous. Adding the chopped up flowers to a tobacco mix gets rid of that effect But sstill allows you to enjoy the taste. I suspect that adding a whole flower our two to a cigar as you roll it would result in a very nice cigar.
No never tried n.alata didn't even know the plant existed till I Googled it.

Kiwikeg, did you kiln them?

ChinaVoodoo,
the (unkilned, but cured to brown) flower petals (the pink or white part) have a woody and somewhat floral aroma to it (i.e. the jasmine smell Kiwikeg mentioned).

The green part of the flower, properly cured to brown, and also crashed seed capsules give a very tasty and "fatty" smoke, which, on its own, is easily overwhelming.

But in small amounts they are a useful addition to the "spice cabinet".

There are some commercial pipe tobaccos which contain blossoms (other than tobacco), i.e. "Kentucky Bird" or McConnell's "Red Roses".

Rose petals, it seems, were once a popular flavourant in pipe tobaccos. They do add a wooden note quite like tobacco blossoms, which, one might say, enhances the "body".
I detected similar wooden notes occasionally in "Kentucky Bird". The description says "natural flowers" and some small but colourful pieces are in the mixture as a minor component. Difficult to say which flowers these are just from looking at it.

Old tobacco-manufacturing documents, old medical books and the fond memories of old men are still an interesting source for information on natural additives (without mind-altering effects).

The only blossoms which I find really nice are Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) blossoms. Again, small amounts (otherwise it gets to camphoric) and preferably stored for a while moistened with a good spirit (which seems to reduce the woodiness).
Adds real perfume and burns well in the pipe. The blue or purple sprinkles beautifully stand out in a mixture.

No I didn't kiln them I have a YTB plant in s pot I brought inside at the end of summer. It flowered all through the winter and spring. I just collected the flowers as they naturally browned and fell.stuck them in a open Ziplock bag in the hot water cupboard and let them wait till I eas in a mood for creative blending.
Thsnks for the information I will give rose and lavender a try soon also.

Sid

you love your pipe tobacco. I rarely smoke mine but I did last night as all my family are away. Lane Ltd RLP6, a mild aromatic. Not bad, but I think I enjoyed the experience more than this particular tobacco. Certainly would smoke it again. Smoked in a small cob. A few relights but not that many. I did enjoy the solitude with a pipe.
