I brought her a bouquet this summer when the first blooms got the snip. She liked them until they were tobacco then they weren't quite as sweet a gesture:rolleyes::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
Maybe figger out how to make likker outta them. Make her friendlier... we'll all still think yah rock Rob... hey you're a tobacco grower and that's all good..
Is the humidity pretty dry in the house with forced air heat?

Yeah. Really dry. I boil water on the stove all winter. Im keeping the rh up a little. If it doesn't improve overall ill move them to my fridge.

Bet that as late as they.wete, they aren't as mature and ripe. My late leaf from my orphan patch and my later to mature upper leaf are lots slower to yellow and color cure.
Keep your powder dry...
And leaf moist..

Transplanted these 3 into buckets to see if I can keep a few inside. 2 Mammoths and an incekara. I transplanted them in late Sept and kept them out of the cold snaps and snow.
That's great... hopefully you have enough light and can keep em warm enough. Sure helps to have something green during those long Dakota winters..

They definitely are not ripe or mature. Couple were topped but not nearly old enough. But thats as late as they could stay out

When did you plant them outside?
I barely got the last of my dark tobacco and orphans primed before it got cold. I think the leaves were ripe enough to cure yellow. Keeping conditions warm and humid. Watching for mold and not letting the leaf dry. I hang wet wash cloths on the ends of the string so I dont get a couple green leaves on the ends. Do you have a chamber for the leaves ?
I have my last 4 strings in a curing chamber. Some leaves weren't very ripe but with good conditions I think I'll get them all cured. I like having a string of burley coloring yellow so maybe the ethylene gas will help the greenies. Good Luck Rob

Normally I flue cure but I'm trying out air. Might have to use the flue chamber to air cure though.

June. Lol. But this was actually a second crop. It was warm so late this year that I got a second stalk to grow almost to mature. Probably 45 days. Staghorn. Couple Big Gems in there
Thats in bonus territory getting a sucker crop. Hella deal..
The stuff thats just finishing for me now is the late planted, left over orphan crop. Very unusually last frost here..

You guys might have to follow along a bit with me on this one.
I noticed flooded tobacco turned white. Anybody have any insight on doing this on purpose for the white color?

I'm thinking it would make a cool cigar wrapper. Maybe a little thin on the nic content. Have to attempt it to see if it makes the taste bad.

This photo is a pretty white leaf, but it wasn’t from flood or drowning.

Now I wonder if that nice white could be maintained by doing exactly the wrong curing flash drying...... I'll have to look into that one.
The drowning might not produce a snow white like that but might produce a dusty white. ... outside the box. One day you see a snow white cigar...
