Chalk up another great harvest for the ChickenHawk.

THE HARVEST AINT OVER YET......

i had to make room ....

i got a lot of leaf to put in there,

whats pictured ^^^^ above that is green is basically the rest of my VA. BRIGHT LEAF crop.

and so far whats browned up in the kiln. is 2'nd pickings,,,,,

i still got a lot of leaf left on a lot of plants, the crop may not have '' grew out '' the way i had planned, but i had many plants.

it's raining right now, which suck's...

PUT'S A DAMPER ON PLANS IVE HAD ALL YEAR,,,,,this local campground put on 8 concerts this year so far, and tonight's the AC/DC tribute band night...

it may not be raining,????? we will see when the time comes,,

but i was planning on picking a lot more bacca today,,, and when i step out to do it,,,,, it's raining, just hard enough to make the leaf unpickable right now,

Seams like it the weather that screws up everthing this year. Climbin stairs has sent me in the house early. Been movein backer from the upstairs shed to the heated shed.

i done shaved my head,,,, got the '' yellow'' out of my goattee......

dug out my old '' back in black '' t-shirt......

and have my denim jacket with a big ol' confederate flag patched on the back of it,

tonight i'll be on '' the highway to hell '' literally,

LOOK'S LIKE THE SUN HAS DRIED THE MORNING '' DEW'' VERY NICELLY,

today im harvesting a lot of my burley's. they are done,

the kiln is filling up nicelly, doing it's job perfect for the volume of leaf ive stuffed in it,

im still not 100% recupirated from last night,

..but it must come out of the great patch today,,,,

My stunted plants have saved all their energy. Now that it's dry they have taken off. I'm glad i got the freezer set up.

yesterday, i took some fertilizer, to a airstrip.

and met some guy's that deliver granular fertilizer by PLANE.

they were fertilizing a area thats thousands of acres, of planted pines,

it takes a '' set '' to do what they do,

them planes dont take-off too good, with 2 tons of fertilizer riding behind the motor,

Did you get to see them take off? Bet that was cool. How do they load and disperse the fertilizer? I know they don't sit by a window tearing bags open.

yeah i got to see them doing it all take-off...load.....land,,

they haul 4 tons at one time, i didnt know they held that much, i had a nice chat with a old pilot, as i found out where, they wanted the trailer, and took some pic's at the same time,

as soon as i dropped the trailer, they fired up the planes, as usual some-one's work day BEGIN'S when i show up!!!!!!!

How do they load the fert on

if you look . right in front of the cockpit, theres, a long grey looking box,

that pops open, exposing a big hole, the whole front of that aircraft is built to hold that fertilizer, they have a truck, with a '' grain silo '' looking chute on it,

they dump it slowlly into a hopper, and it's converyed to that hole in the aircraft,
the guy told me if you went with a bigger motor than they have . you'd go to a bigger airplane,
and he said the take-off's werent too cool. on some of the short runways they are provided with,
............

i'll be taking them 2 trailers, back to back,,,,tommorrow,

so far a toatal of 7 trailers, thats 140 tons+ of fertilizer,for pine tree's.

but i also found out that a normal growth for growing pines to harvest is a good 20 yr. process,

BY FERTILIZING YOU KNOCK 5 years out of that equation.

There is a small airfield across from my dads business and they are giving free rides to kids next weekend. I am taking my kids and breakfast is on my old man, don't get no better than that.
I will never get in a plane. But I will bungee jump. Yea Haw
