Do you ever have any interest selling locally? I'm debating whether I want to start 250+ plants for the farmers market. Has anyone ever asked you to sell them any?

ive never sold any... i sold some whole leaf baccca locally. there was definatlly a market for that.

but i dont see why people wouldnt want to buy some..they buy every other plant at the flea market

I'm going to a seed swap. Hopefully I can trade tobacco seed for all my veggie seeds. I imagine a place like that would open up the conversation to how they need to be started indoors if you hope to harvest rather than keep merely as ornamental, and that you could sign up for a number of seedlings in advance.

It's a tricky topic to talk to someone about starting seeds under lights..immediately they start thinking "" what else is he growing under those lights "".... And me being a libertarian..and a marijuana activist..I can get rude when the conversation swings in that direction.. And I've come to notice 7 out of 10 times it will go that way..when discussing growing things under lights...

But I've also come go notice most are totally ignorant to just what you can do under lights...so just lead your conversations carefully..and manipulate your words in a way..as to teach...and hope they listen and learn..instead of being one sided and thinking your nothing more than a law breaking ,.........60's reject..or a hippie wanna be.
Guide the ignorance with intelligence.

Well my $100.00 "" solo "". Brand back pack sprayer diaphragm took a crap and wouldn't build any pressure...I priced the new diaphragm.. But then you got to buy a special tool also just to remove it..

So I did a little research and found I could get a new sprayer for the price the diaphragm cost.. From harbour freight.

I did some research on it..and good reviews all around..

And I must say for $29.00 this thing is badass..it comes with 4 different heads...and some spare parts in case it's diaphragm goes bad.

I would highly recommend this sprayer if your in the market for one. It holds 4 gallons.

well i couldnt get the 200 or the 400 watt h.i.d. light to fire. so once again i pulled the dinosaur out... and did some research on it.

apparantlly its a 1500 watt light... damn i dont really need that much power. but its all i got right now. so im going with it, its very old. the name on it is '' sonoco '' apparantlly made by phillips. for indoor or outdoor use,

i just now am starting to seperate the seedlings... i got all the trays i need for this. but still havent got the greenhouse expanded,

Well this weekend I was looking at the potatoes.. And I believe they are done..the plant looks as though it's starting to die..I'm gonna do some test digging this week.and see what they look like...the rest of the stuff I had in the garden is done.so hopefully very soon I can get it all tilled up and start rolling out my weed barrier mat..and get to planting...

And on a side note I'm headed to GA today to pick up a couple tons of Fertilizer.. Normally when I go to this place it's tobacco Fertilizer I pick up..I've got 3 bags right now from this place..I got 6 bags to load..if that's what I get.

I just lick my forefinger, pick up a few seeds and roll finger and thumb and feel how many seeds i'm dropping. Saves money & builds up my imune system at the same time. No germs, no imunity.
Thats my method too GMAC. finger in the baggie , roll finger and thumb ... water and wait.

Well I did a.test dig.on the potatoes and they are done..and looking quiet good..so soon I'll start putting certain plants in the ground..the seed trays I been using haven't really been giving the plants a lot of room to grow..so I'm gonna go back to using my styrofoam cups..and next year get some seller cell trays..

But my retired nursery friend has a crap load of 4" pots..so I'll proablly get all he has...ID rather use the pots than cups.

I knew from the beginning that my grow was going to be started late..and I'm still on schedule... In Florida we have a long growing season.

Well I did a.test dig.on the potatoes and they are done...

Chicken, How do you store your spuds down there in Florida. Up here in Maryland I usually harvest mine in August and store them in my crawl space in the basement. They usually stay good till the next summer. It's a lot hotter in Florida and you don't have a basement... just wondering.

Well potatoes left in the ground stay good..I always till up some I missed.the following year..so since I live in a mobile home..I'm gonna go under it..and dig a big square about 8" deep..and cover them up with dirt..and lay a sheet of plywood over them ( so the dogs can't get to them )

And dig them up and bring them in as needed.

I'll do fine as long as I don't pay attention to my surroundings.. There's spiders under there..

Spiders don't eat potatoes. They do eat bugs that eat potatoes.

Bob

True but in Florida we have a spider called a brown recluse..Google what a bite done by that spider looks like.

And you'd be fearfully of them also..

I used to kill literally a dozen a day when I worked in Tennessee. Boxes of paper bags were the worst. Ditto for bagged chemicals on wooden shelves.
