Been using a 100 gpd ro/di system this year in my greenhouse. 15 gallons every 4 hours of pure water. 3-4 gallons of waste to 1 gallon of pure. Waste goes to a compost pile outside. Pure into a fertilizer mixing tank.
Watering tobacco with the pure and other plants that are unaffected from the "waste water" would be at about a 1 to 4 rate.

Kind of pricey for a home tobacco grow.

This is what I went with, the company has good reviews, with extra inline sediment filter. Can install on plywood and run from a garden hose with some adapters. Set up where condensation isn't a problem with a drain for it. Cheaper or more portable versions are available.

If I was a professional I would probably invest in one of these recommendations, as they clearly work. Thank you all for your research.

My plan also has to integrate the need to move rainwater to the top of the hill, so I'm going to combine the two problems. I like to keep things simple and DIY.

The plan right now is to do a basic skim and mechanical filter of the rainwater out of the eaves trough downspout. There will be a 1/2HP pump to raise the water 20' to the level of my back alley. There it will go through a charcoal filter and sand filter before filling a barrel. The filters will be made with used x-ray processing tanks.

I'm not having the greatest success this year. I lost half my Sherazi seedlings early on and managed to plant 4 with one extra. Jaffna was the same, down to 6. GCR, started with 24, ended up with 18 for the garden and 1 extra. Prilep did fine. Anyways, cut worms have injured 5 and killed 3, used up my extras, and left me with empty spaces and plants that might not be worth growing.

Poor me. And it's not a Karma thing because I started hundreds for others and gave away seeds and seedlings. I didn't plan a big grow in the first place, so I'll be sad for a day. Oh well. Maybe I'll pick up some pepper plants to fill in the gaps.

was going to suggest one of those, or laminating the tags, but not sure if those would be compatible with the temperatures involved.

Metal tags seem to be the safest bet. Even if you didn't have a letter or number punch set, you could just use a regular punch or a nail and make up a key: 1 dot= X tobacco, 2 dots= Y tobacco, 3 dots = Z tobacco, etc.

That way you could reuse the tags next year with different tobaccos: just change the key

My Prilep doesn't look like everyone else's before mine, imo. I think it's growing well, but it doesn't have that wavy edge or the density. Maybe because they've only been in the ground for 7 weeks? Maybe because I'm impatient?

My corn is 4-5' tall and you can see the flowers are just starting. I'm starting to be afraid they'll run out of time.

I planted about 60 garlic and got 52 bulbs.

I sprayed a few aphid riddled plants with Dawn 2%, water 98%.

The curling on the Prilep is much reduced on most of the plants.

This photo is the Goose Creek. I'm 6'tall.
