Found a good link and current on all aspects of tobacco farming:

http://www.caes.uga.edu/commodities/fieldcrops/tobacco/barn/heatexch/CuringTobacco.html

An example:

Stem Drying

Advance the dry-bulb temperature from 135° to 165°F at a rate of 2° to 3°F per hour. Close vents gradually during stem drying. Maintain a vent opening to hold wet-bulb temperature down to 110°F during the first 12 to 18 hours of stem drying. Vents are usually closed completely about the time the leaf is completely dry and the temperature has reached 165°F . Stems should be killed out at a temperature of 165°F. Sugar caramelization will cause tobacco to turn red when the dry-bulb temperature is more than 165°F .

This link I really want to read but is not working:

It isnt good i think. I got some sort of mold on some. Small black spots but not raised or fuzzy. Got a kiln system almost set up. Just waiting for the humidity part to show up. I went with the towel warmer and will use bricks or mini bales once i get the humidor humidifier in a few days. It holds 124 deg F like a religion too.
Got a cabinet 40 cubic feet on way from California and will set it up for a cure chamber.
Got another 100 buckets ordered and will finish last planting. Is weird how just cutting the old root ball out of bucket and adding new plant has produced as good as it has too.

The old plants after stalk harvesting and priming. They still want to grow but are awaiting recycling:

2nd planting of first sowing. They are over 6 month old. Their brothers are already dryed when these were planted.

Some of these guys have taken vinegar or peroxide with water and cleaned off light mold. (can't remember which it was) If nobody pops in pretty quick with a solution, I'll hunt up that thread for you. That yellow leaf is looking mighty pretty.
Sounds like you'll be curing and kilning with the best of them shortly. Looking forward to seeing your build.

Leaves are hard like plastic or rubber and brittle. They didnt get full dose but for sure took a hit.

Explanation: John was spraying weeds on fence when skeeters attacked and his dumass went to swatting while he was spraying. Good thing he was on other side of fence and only hit 6 plants on end :)

Wow. What size pot did you hold them in and for how long? (second planting of first seeding) I would have just assumed they would have finished out their cycle regardless of size. Very interesting.

They were in solo cups and to top it all off were in clear ones as well. The current ones were planted in their place after cutting out root ball and are just now flowering and about 5 1/2' to crowsfoot.
Born 2-15-13 or there abouts.

Don't smoke mildew! Next thing you know you'll be sticking green tobacco leaves to your face!

Looking at my icon pic which was first flower on first planting and the one I just took of the 2nd planting of the first sowing.... the 2nd planting is about 8-12 " taller .... Next year will wait a while before planting and let the weather warm a lil more. I had more nutrient problems due to the chilly weather and this is pretty much proof as the 2nd planting is growing in remanants of 1st planting nutrients in the soil.
