Doublechecking leaf is pretty tedious and a bit of a PITA as BT says at times......;)
But guess it'll work out fine in the end , will I finnish before nightfall ? I'm working on it
Got a bit iffy when I was to dismantle that fan but it had a plug inside of that housing so I got to be just fine.

Thanks DGB.
It turns out sort of different depending on how much light they get exposed to them......Its the same all the way but one can get a different opinion for example in late afternoon , they would seem pretty much more dark browner then.

I thank you too Mad , missed that one in a rush.....
Anyway , have been out on a few rides today , one was that I went out to a kinda supermarket and got myself a pitchfork . is that right ?
After that I rode out to my patch and took a pic of my one and only GC-1 from India that survived from the slugattack this spring.
Finally its in bloom and if it makes to produce seedpods , would those seeds be anything to keep when the plant is so small ?

PO - if you can get those flowers to set mature seed pods (and if there is no other Rustica flowering at the same time nearby) ... then you will get a load of perfectly good viable seeds that you can have another go with next year. Knowing how quickly rustica can set it's seed and hopefully without a frost before October I reckon you could make it work. If the pods are set but not completely dry - you can bring the stalk with flower heads inside and cure like you do with normal tobacco ... the plant will continue to feed the seed pods until they are mature.

Worth a go I reckon.

Right John , all the other plants is down and home here with me so thats no worries.
I'll just bide on then and wait for the right moment.
To my chagrin this was my first hand choice when selecting seeds for this years grow , slugs liked them very much .
But I had all the others so I'll let it slide......

I think they will be fine. The snails didn't harm the pods. Even be it they are short on the recovery, The seed pods look good. I would say they are keepers the same. Mad-

Been digging today , not in soil , but in information and have found some interesting things about the Russian Makhorka.
It seems like , according to the info I've read that bits and pieces of The Makhorka has its roots in the Dutch city of Amersfoort.
During the 2 nd world war it seems that The Soviet Army came to Amersfoort and when they left they took some of the Rustica population with them.

Bought some shag seeds myself from Russia and http://magicles.org/
Donated some to the seed bank in benevolence.

Wow! That etymology goes way back. The Indian natives of the island of Haiti (the Taino) were wiped out within less than 100 years of the arrival of Columbus. Seems they didn't take to being enslaved all that well.

Way back in those days Holland was one of the strong colonial powers in the world.
They were practically everywhere in the world trying to enlarge their own kingdom.
The British had the lead in making other countries their own , like India Egypt and a whole lot of other places.
The Netherlands ( Holland ) had a number of colonies in The West-Indies , Aruba , Bonaire , Curacau , Saba and Saint Maarten just to mention a few of their former colonies.
It would be natural that tobaccoseeds must have been obtained over there and taken home to The Kingdom itself as I see it.
I'll dig some more and see what I can find.......
