I turned the ground in my patch today for the first time, it's right beside my grow out patch from last year. 30' x 100'. I'll have four 100' rows with room between for my four wheeler. I plan on spreading some rotten sawdust from my cousin's sawmill here pretty soon. I used a single row cultivator to dig deep, then I'll pick up all the rocks I can find, spread the rotten sawdust and some sand (a little too much clay there in spots) and then I'll use the tiller to mix it all up. I'm trying to locate some old manure from a barn clean out but not having much luck yet.

This is so nice. I need to visit you one day or maybe I come with my kids for holidays. Any fish in the water?...

I check your internet supply for those 1020 trays. 1 euro for one tray? Come on, thats a good deal. I need to pay at least three times more expensive rather four in my country....

And I didn't say good luck. My last year with so many strains. Next year I will only grow six. Three for cigarettes, and three for cigars. Ok, maybe one rustica too.

Looking good. Have you tried checking Craigslist for your area? Check in the free section. Or search the whole site. I had a quick look, but not not too sure of the area. There was one from 23 days ago in Lynchburg for 1 1/2 truck loads worth (horse manure). Most likely gone, but keep an eye out or post an ad stating your looking for some.

Next year...
60' x 200'. 100 varieties...

Have you tried the "Jelly Worm" (Wonder worm?) at Walmart yet? I caught some nice plump ones with it.

Thanks BT I'll keep my eyes open. Around here the cows and horses run wild in the pastures. The barns are for storing hay. I'll have to find an old barn from back when milk cows and animals were penned up inside or an old dairy. There are several chicken houses but I'm looking for cow or horse manure first. I may have to settle for some old chicken manure.

Yes, there are some big bass and bream. Remember the fish I told you I caught that was so big the picture weighed seven pounds? I caught it right there in the pond. ;)

That's a good idea about Craigslist, I'll give them a look see.
I haven't been to town in awhile, my friend and I have been plowing up food plots for turkey season on three different properties. I do want to try the Wonder Worm. I know I was fishing too fast the other day for this time of year.

Love the pond, and the patch should do well there. Look forward to making a trip up that way.

Rainin a lot here too. Wait on a dry spell to run the tiller.

Yeah, I will. I'm giving it a while for the grass and roots to die down and will be spreading some rotten sawdust over it soon with some sand. Then I'll till that stuff in when it drys out to get it mixed good. I have to start picking up rocks next though. This rain will help the rocks stand out so I can see them.

I picked up all the rocks I could find in the patch, then hauled and worked in a load of old sawdust from my cousin's saw mill. Still looking for some manure.

I hauled three loads of cow manure mixed with hay today in a one ton long flat bed truck with electric dump bed. One for the patch and two to start a huge compost pile. My neighbor across the road has a large horse manure pile about 3 yrs old he's going to give me so I'll haul a few loads of that hopefully Monday to add to the compost pile. I went from no manure to manure running out of my ears. Life is good.
