ya'll are correct,, it does give you a workout, when running it,,, im taking a break right now,

i got a flash-light duct-taped to my hat,, i will be tilling in the dark,

i gotta get it back to the guy who owns it, by 8 p,m,

i have the option to buy it, for 150.00 think it's worth it,??????

I'm not sure I'd pay to take a beating. The tiller I bought last year I can guide with one hand and smoke a cigar in the other. I will make the final payment this month to keep it interest free finance from sears, I threw a rod in my old one or cracked a piston or something, and caught this one on sale. I f you compare the narrow hard rubber tires [buryed in the soil]to the newer model rear tine tillers with large wide traction tires and notice they are self propelled you will catch my drift. If the tires are spinning instead of pulling its either to dry and powdery soil or to wet for tilling. Not sure I could do without my reverse either.

your spoiled... youd sleep good after running this thing [ im taking another break, 3 more rows ]...

i also have had the rear tine, big wheel driven tiller [ a troy bilt ] it did o.k. and was easy to operate,,,

but it cant get the depth these old school tillers can get, you can literally let it dig as deep as you want it,

im doing my rows, about 16'' deep, maybe more, i figure that should be plenty for my bacca roots. plus my stakes that will be in that spot to support the plants, so i dont want it too deep,,,, just deep enough,

i figure, im gonna leave it turned over like it is now, '' fertilize'' it, and let it get good and wet, so my bottom to middle soil will be fertilized,,,, then cover, and make my rows, and do a 2'nd lighter, fertilizing, using a higher potash/potassium content,

so far the tilling process is going very well. ive avoided the water-line, so all is good...

Heh Heh, The older I get the more I want to kill my self with kindness. Mine will till 7" first normal pass on new unbroken sod without breakin a sweat. The second pass will add 2" more inch depth by the gauge sinking further and letting it dig in. But what I realy like is the forward till to run across before planting to give a manicured surface that levels all the ruts ,high and low spots. Hang on for that feature cause it will take off running if it hits a hard spot which only happens if you dont do your first 2 runs thorough on new ground. I make a pass to break the sod and a few weeks later till again to get any new growth and then do the manicure pass to plant, Manure gets spread on the second till this year.. I love old tools as much as you do and if you take care of your tools , your tools will take care of you. I'm messing with you Chicken ......, But I realy am spoiled.:D

edit;;.....Hey Chicken, I almost forgot. I'm looking forward to your fantastic 2013 season this year and plan on keeping a close eye to pick up a few tricks. Best of luck to you and good weather.

i got this 5'th wheel camper, and after having issues last year with too much humidity and moisture from all the rain [ damn it rained every day last year ]

i may use my shed, but im gonna string the majority of it in here, and perhaps use '' radiator'' type heaters to heat it up.

i may be able to get 3 rows high, per strand, top. middle and close to the bottom of the camper,

You seem to have it going on. Good job. I did my second ground ripping today but we're going to have to pick it up a notch. Leverhead has plants started.

just wait till you see my seed starting procedure,

it's gonna be radical. i invested some money on some equipment that hopefully last me for years,

that will have multiple uses, starting the bacca seeds, is just one thing,, i may end up starting my whole veggie garden in there also,????

many,many possibilities,

well. im off to a later than normal start for this years grow,

i just now hve seed germination, but ive decided, to grow, a bigger variety, after going thru my seed collection,

im gonna try and make the majority of the crop VIRGINIA BRIGHT LEAF, and so far i have 1 seed tray dedicated to that strain, and all i see is green dots, in every seed starting hole,

soon i'll be getting the indoor, grow area ready for young plants, [ normally they would allready be in there, at least 5'' tall by now ]] im very behind schedule,

Been a month since you posted. You burning up the road in that Volvo? Looking forward to seeing your new seed starting procedure. You already waited till it's too late for the rest of us. I guess you'll have it patented before next season. lol
