That's funny.... DG. Your link;

Ah well it is a bit mid-evil / dark ages.... I did mention in the video it would be good to remove the finger of an offender. But the mention of terrorist leads to thoughts off unmentionable parts placed on the block. How ever a hard core terrorist would likely have true conviction and remain silent while suffering the loss. One which could be less than average at that.

Do you use Text to speech ? I do that.

The leaves I'm sun curing under the sugar maple have a fine misting of clear, really sticky sap on them. Is this going to be sweet sap or some nasty stuff? Anybody know?

The leaves are still drying. I have some inside the house now drying the stems on my seedling heat mats. I hope it's the sweet stuff. That might be pretty cool.

I finished cleaning my seed and have the zip lock bags open and taped to the inside of one of my ammo boxes. The desiccant is inside with the drying seed. I just put the temp and humidity meter inside so I can monitor what's going on. I'll leave them here a few weeks to finish drying before I start germination testing. Several varieties were too immature before frost stopped them in their tracks. I'm hoping for around 35 new varieties, well short of what I planted. The grow out patch got a late start. I'll do better next year. :)

You've done a truly heroic seed grow. Congratulations.

I do get a bit nervous seeing the open bags. I never have more than one variety open at a time, due to the tendency of the tiny seed to instantaneously jump several inches just from electrostatic differences in surfaces. This tendency is more pronounced at lower humidity. Unless the seed is not dry to start with, I would be inclined to close all the bags, and allow moisture transpiration through the polyethylene to the desiccant. It's slow, but progressive. I have no specific data to support my opinion here, so it's just a plain old opinion.

I'll close the bags, I don't want any Mexican Jumping Tobacco Seed floating around. Some of them just have come out of dry pods, but I have no idea how dry the seed are. Emre said when the humidity in the box gets down to 10%, the moisture content of the seed will be around 5 - 8%. Then I will do my germination testing. Thanks Bob.

Great seed collection Knucks! What about the seeds from immature plants or varieties that didn't grow very well? Are still quality seeds that will give healthy plants?

The ones that were obviously immature just had mush inside or were clumped together and soft. I disposed of all seed that weren't loose in the pods. I lost ten or more varieties that just weren't ready. I have my fingers crossed for the germination testing, I may lose even more.
