Rolled a Dom Olor puro last week. Smoked it last night. Mmmmmm nice, very floral and a bit spicy. Had a tiny bit of tonue burn, Think its the rum I cased the wrapper with. Very nice cigar. Tonight a Comstock Spanish puro!!!

Today I smoked my first cigar rolled from my homegrown cigar tobacco. It tasted good! Like a real cigar! The wrapper and binder were Swarr and the filler Swarr and Lonnie's Havana. I know Swarr is supposed to be filler, but the Swarr leaves were more wrapper quality than what I got from the Havana. The filler wasn't in low enough case, but I was impatient so it didn't burn too well. So I left some filler out to dry out a bit and rolled two more tonight with everything in proper case.

Sounds good Don. I find that Lonnie's Havamah gives some nice wrapper/binder.

I smoked another one today. The flavor was top notch. I'm really impressed. My rolling wasn't, though, so the draw wasn't great and the combustion was slow. Last year I didn't prime and separate lower leaves for volado, but I think I need to do that. And the thing canoed like crazy, so I may have to abandon my "book method" rolling and go back to bunching. When I first tried bunching the draw was terrible, but that's what the pros do, so...

So Lonnie's Havana and Swarr are definitely keepers.

Been a while since I showed my face around here. A wedding, and a vehicle vandalized to the point of a total loss while fighting with the insurance company sure gets in the way of a mans hobbies. Enjoyed a blend #4 last night that had a few months rest and dadgummit I really need to roll a bunch more and hide them from myself because I can see now how some age in cedar really improves these things. First one I've had with some draw issues but I was able to work it out and really enjoy what my labor produced. Cheers gents and long ashes to you all!

I rolled a few last week and after sitting a week I lit up one this morning.
2 - Nic Habano Seco
1 1/2 - Crillio Seco
1/2 - Meta Fina ( small leafs so I used 1/2 )
Pa Oscaro Binder
San Andreas Wrapper

This was a joy to smoke, Kind of sweet and spicy. I think afew more will be rolled and put up for a few months to see how they are with some age on them.

I am quite new here and still learning as much as I can. I have rolled quite a few already and enjoying it!!! There is a lot of great information throughout this site, but there is one question I do have. I see a lot of this written throughout this thread.

Just smoked one of my #7Hs that has been resting for about 2 months.

Smoking a 10E

Smoked my new "B" blend today.

Had a blend #2 yesterday afternoon

Could someone explain to me what exactly all these numbers/letters mean? Is this a blend you have created and named it that way, or is there a secret thread where everyone shares there blends/recipes and have them named? Or if I just missed a thread, could you point me in the right direction? Thanks

There's no secret thread, Ken. Some members code their blends, then later report about them without clarification. The codes are usually too short to function in the forum search. I read every single post every day, and have done so since the forum was founded. I can't follow these cigar blend codes.

Tell us about the blends that you've tried.

hello ken..for me the curse and blessing of rolling cigars is the many..many different combos of leaves you can try,so for me and others the best way to keep up with differnet blends is to number them some how..like example A1 and A2 both have same fillers [maybe binders] but different wrappers.so when you finally try them out you can record the ones you like or not hope this helps..not exact way to explain but with my memory so short sometimes helps me haha.

I had a Comstock Spanish pure last night. Very light neutral smoke, with a tiny bit of fruit and spice, not bad, but the Dom Olor was better.
Ben

Ben, what flavors did you get from the Dom. Olor? I was thinking of adding it to my next grow. The Comstock Spanish would probably be great in a blend.

Nice floral and fruity smoke, definitely stronger than Com Spanish, a little kick at the end, also a bit of tongue burn, but i think that will mellow out as it rests, smoked it straight out the fermentation fridge. I really enjoyed it

Welcome, and glad your here.

I am assuming but the 7H and 10E's are probably mine.
I have previously posted what they are, but I should continue to do so. It only makes sense to help share what we are Really smoking.
But to add a little insight to the method to my madness. I usually have a blend, but change the wrapper. The wrapper is why I add the letter. H for Habana, E for Ecuadorian, B for Bezuki etc...

7H
Nicaraguan Seco 2leaf
Nicaraguan Viso 2 leaf

Mata Fina Just 1/4thleaf
Sumatra Double Binder

Habana 2000 Wrapper

10E

Piloto seco
Criollo 98 ligero
Criollo 98 seco
Sumatra DoubleBinder
Ecuador ShadeWrapper
