Dave, I was even drinking a "Traveler" with it ,which is a really nice grapefruit flavored beer . Try that combo in your pool !Sounds really good. I'll try one of those here.
Inspired by the members blend thread, i rolled this the other day and got an opportunity to burn it today.
filler:
corojo viso one leaf
criollo 98 seco one leaf
nica habano seco for double binder
CT shade wrap ( i over-worked it, made it a bit mottled)
delicious, burned like a champ. one relight after i set it down for 10 minutes. nice and smoooothView attachment 16465
That's a beauty, Lew. But is that the LO Ecuador shade? Because I've used that wrapper on a lot of things and it gave all of them what I'd call a skank taste. Took me a long time to realize that it was this wrapper that was causing a lot of my blends to fail. It looks exactly like my LO Ecuador shade. If it is, do you not find that it's a bit of a skank leaf? Obviously could be different shipments: bought mine about 5 months ago.
These guys are wrapped in my LO Ecuador shade:

All right, thanks. Since I've been buying at WLT, about 5 months, they've never had an Ecuador shade wrapper, just the maduro, and the CT. How long ago did you buy that stuff?
It's like smoking a miniature bassoon.
Superb! I think my favorite blend is no blend at all. All habano.
1 corojo seco
1 criollo 98 viso
nica habano binder
ecu maduro wrap
this was every thing a cigar should be, for me. It had a wonderful raisin / molasses / leather nose unlit, with a black pepper taste.
burning the smoke was sweet and earthy, with distinct leather. There was a bit of barnyard underscore...but then again I was standing in a barn yard...
the sweet leather gave way to cinnamon and then to black pepper.
About an inch into it the flavour changed, but i don't have a descriptor for it yet. maybe clove? it was spicier but sweet smooth spice, a very full body.
