It is a pretty stick I will agree, but to be clear, that was a purchased stick, made by the daughter of Don Garcia. La Duena

Just want to make sure I am not taking credit for others work.

I roll my scraps with a 120mm rolling machine. It works great keeping the short filler in its place.

I've made many Connecticut broadleaf filler type cigars, and it's mostly a chocolatey sweet filler, but goes with many types of filler, from Habano to even fire-cured.

didn't get a chance to light 'em today, but a friend just got back from a trip to the home office and brought back a nice romeo#2 and a fresh cohiba.
the cohiba has a nice floral smell, a 5"x 50+ ring. smells awesome! it's rolled quite a bit tighter than what i have been doing. Quite a big stogie, It has some heft to it.
the romeo smell more like barnyard, a lot more similar nose to what i have been working with. She's a 5" too, but more like a mid 40's ring... It is pretty tight too.

It's been a while since i had commercial tailor made... back when i smoked for habit and nicotine, not for enjoyment. I have smoked both of these branded garos before, but these two will be approached from a new direction, with a discerning palate and attention to detail.

I think i will savour my gifts for a week or two before commiting arson.

today since I had tonight off I had time to actually get a few things done ,including cutting the grass which almost always includes a cigar. Todays choice was a KFC wrapped scrapper toro filled with corojo ,criollo and piloto with a piece of San Vicente ligero in the center.

Waited two weeks to smoke this one and boy was it worth the wait. I'm amazed at how good sticks get when left to rest in a humi for a bit.
It started loosing it's shape a bit after getting passed the halfway point but still smoked beautifully. Good news is I have another in the humi calling my name.

2 Criollo98 Seco
1 Criollo98 Ligero
1/2 Mata Fina
Aleman Binder/Wrapper

I meant to follow Knuckleheads advice and roll a Nic habano seco/viso with Corojo binder and wrapper. I grabbed some scraps but I think they were PA Oscuro and wrapped with PA Oscuro as well. It's a tasty stick!

You guys are rolling some great sounding tasty blends.
Buck, I might have to try your blend but with a Criollo 98 wrapper as I have no more Almen.

My second today is one of my Cameroon blend protects. This one I have half Dominican and half Nic Habano seco, Dominican binder with Cameroon filler. It's s nice mild blend. It's missing that something special though. I think I need a 1/4 leaf of ligero or something. Any suggestions?

Today I'm doing a test blend for a friend. I'm adding a touch of cherry pipe tobacco to my normal blend. He likes sweet cigars so we will see how this turns out.
This could be the start of something, maybe a pinch coffee pipe tobacco. Not really my cup of tea but he would enjoy it I know.

I'm rolling all my scraps (offcuts) at the moment, and I must say its some of my best cigars, even if I smoke them straight after rolling. The other thing is, the rolling goes twice as fast with a mat as with long fillers, I weigh the tobacco, so every one is the same, Iv`e glued two planks on the side of the mat, the width of the mold, easy. I will go so far as to shred all my left over tobacco, after putting it in different blends.

Romp In The Dark #4. The blend always tells me what it wants to be smoked with. It usually says "Whiskey." In this case it said "Pimms Cup." Piloto seco, Habano seco, Nica ligero. Something like that.

Smoked a shorty I rolled yesterday (the batch was 6.5", this one only made it to 5.5"). Buck-fifty worth of tobacco and it tastes like a ten-dollar boutique job.

t_5_cigar.jpg

Ec. Mad wrapper
Dom binder
1 habano seco
1/2 corojo seco
1/2 corojo viso
1/2 Dominican ligero

Smoked one of my 11o blend. One I had so much issues with the wrapper burning.

In the end, it burned much better this time, but I do not think this blend is for me.
The Corojo sure does make a purty wrapper though.

Piloto Cubano Ligero
San Vincent Seco
PA Oscuro Binder
Corojo Oscuro Wrapper
